Me Winston vs Smurf Widowmaker low silver

I was the only one trying to kill Widowmaker, I was originally the only shield tank Orisa no one switched, I made the call to try to kill her, she wiped me and my entire team, what should I have done in that situation?

Since we’re only playing Theorycraft? Go Winston and advance toward her via cover. When it’s time to jump on her, bounce, do a 180’ turn so she cannot headshot you, land on her, drop shield. She’ll run, wait for jump, repeat.

But since this isn’t 1v1 land…

It’s essentially a lost game. You accept the loss, put your entire team on avoid (the 1 tank is an avoid slot, both heals are your other two, and the DPS are auto avoids as they have a 10+ minute wait to rejoin a game), and queue up again.

It’s just one of the many inherent flaws the OW Devs are comfortable with having in game. A rank system where you are punished alongside all the others on the losing side, with virtually the same SR loss, regardless if you play well and have good stats.

I prefer…

Using a mass of periods is just so much cleaner I find.

It’s Widow
There’s not really anything you can do until she gets nerfs she’s needed since season 10.

Not sure how you died to Widow when playing orisa?

Just put your shield down and Widowfaker is useless.

1 Shield, being focused by the opposing team, falls quick. After it does, and the widow has aim, that’s a dead Orisa.

You die, accept its a auto loss & move on.
Lots of masters/diamond smurfs in silver atm.

Orisa + Sigma is the best answer. Winston is not a Widow counter by himself. If you go on the Widow as Winston and leave your frontline, the other team pushes your team and wins for free because main tank is doing his own thing. Even beyond that, widow can just dink you, grapple away, and you’ll die as soon as you leave your bubble.

Winston can work if your team is working with you though. If someone keeps the Widow under pressure, you have more time to get on top of her without getting shot. Alternatively, you go on her, get her attention, and that allows another DPS to actually kill her while she shoots at you. Either way, she can die in that case. But again, it has to be coordinated.

With Orisa + Sigma, you use Orisa to keep the frontline, then Sigma LOS’s the Widow with his barrier while taking space. Widow basically isn’t allowed to play the game, and she’d be forced to swap.

play better is your answer

sucks to have a smurf in enemy team, nothing you can do just do your best.
tho you are very likely to lose

oh and one more thing maybe next game you will have a smurf in your team.
Fuxk one sided match anyway

Stayed orisa, fight behind shield, shoot widow from afar. If you constantly harrass her with orisa she is useless and will have to switch.

Tanks are the only heroes in the game that can reliably fight widow.

Supports can’t do jack outside of ana or zen poking behind shield.
All the DPS except widow and hanzo get destroyed by widow.

Also the fact that the Widow is a smurf is irrelevant. Your own skill is all that matters in this scenario.

I’d go with ball tbh or just stay on Orisa and use my barrier wisely.

Inb4 people coming to copy paste “you have smurfs in your team too so it cancels out.”, I’ll just say that logic is flawed. Smurf in enemy team is pretty much an auto loss as long as it’s really a smurf, while having smurf in your team doesn’t mean much. For all you know, you’d win that game anyway.

…What? I must be misunderstanding that statement.

The OP has “smurf” in the title, but the post is about bad teammates. I’m simply pointing out the unecessary wording

the better player won, just because you picked a counter doesn’t mean you automatically win.

you misinterpret to see the title that I Switched off Orisa to Winston

You can’t just claim you did your best with a simple hero pick. You need to co-ordinate and they need to obey. If they don’t, you lose. If no on will be leader, you’ll lose.
