Why did they buff FtH? As a McCree main who’s tried her best to improve aiming on McCree since the game launched, it’s sad to see other McCree’s only relying on fan the hammer. I’ve been in games where McCree’s never even used left click once, only flanking or running up to people just so they can stun+fth for an easy kill.
It feels like all that time I put into improving on my main hero was for nothing, and there’s no point in aiming anymore. More often than not I’ve been right clicked before I can hs another McCree, because I just have no intention of doing the same. I’d rather die to a McCree that at least aimed at me than someone who just used stun+fth. I’ve tried using that combo in Deathmatch and I just felt horrible, it’s not even fun.
I love and main McCree because you need to practice to have good aim, and once you have good aim it should reward you, not spamming FtH. It’s really sad to see.
Yes, but I’m noticing it a lot more after the buff. You can’t call this game a shooter anymore, too many stuns and spam. McCree’s are running up to you to stun+ftn especially now it’s ridiculous, and the fact they really have to stun to do it. If they want to play this hero this is not the way to learn.
They gave FTH 10-60 damage because it was a completely useless ability. Now that it actually has a function as it was designed players tend to take it a bit too far. You still do more damage if you click heads
Flanking McCrees LUL (with those loud footsteps)
Using Cree like that it’s like using a bootleg version of Reaper and it makes him really easy to counter.
Why? Cree is much more powerful if you click heads rather than going solo to get a ‘free kill’ and then die immediately after so your efforts at getting better at him will be rewarded
Thats just a death, now that you know his ‘playstyle’ you can counter him with a better positioning
If i can add a last thing: the flash was mainly designed to stop fast moving heroes, but the flash alone isn’t enough sometimes thus FtH was given to McCree; you can’t risk to miss an Headshot (because of the game wobblling head animation after the stun and the momentum characters mantain after the stun) and let a high priority target escape, it would be bad for the team and the match in general.
You are right, the combo feels terrible to use and lose to but that’s rather a game issue than an hero issue.
One also have to take in consideration that the Flash has a 10s cooldown, a short range and it’s basically the only Cree’s defensive tool
