He is really dumbed down by his stun and hammer, and I find him to be really lame because of that, I might’ve given him a shot if it wasn’t for that. His left click is really fun.
Same with Zen. Super fun heroes ruined by “push button for easy and, more importantly lucky, kill”.
You guys are funny… I guess McCree should just have a primary fire and nothing else? Good luck on surviving in OW… cause you know, the pros and t500’s all complain about alt fire on McCree and Zen
If you find his left click fun then go ahead and use his left click.
No Fan the Hammer and no stun.
If you really think his M2 and E dumb him down then you don’t realize what balance is and what a kit even is.
If we just had him be an aim hero then his M1 would have to be really really strong… but that would be OP so we need to nerf it so it’s massive dmg on headshots… but now he is a slow glass cannon that gets outclassed by almost every DPS.
The E+M2 combo is just an easier and more consistent combo than
the E+M1+M1 or E+M1 but it has 1 problem, you’re dumping all of your ammo which forces you to reload and/or spend a roll.
The advantage to the latter combos is that it allows you to keep shooting but it comes at the cost of being inconsistent and when it fails due to an odd postion, a boop, a twitch from something then you do way less damage.
But that’s about it. He is as straight forward as Star Platinum and that’s the best part about him, reducing him to just an M1 would make him pretty boring and even more straight forward, ironically dumbing him down.
Just because Blizzard is bending over backwards for their precious 500 doesn’t mean the rest of us should give a toss what they think.
Also, nobody is saying it’s unfair or OP. We’re saying it’s lame. Which it is. It makes what would otherwise be a pair of high skill heroes into cheese.
And yes, without those abilities they would only have primary fire…like Tracer, Widow, Reaper, Orisa, Ana, Ashe, Bastion, Brigitte, Lucio, Mercy, Moira, Pharah, Rein, Roadhog, Sombra, Sym, Winston, Hampster and Zarya. Who all have utility skills instead of “push button to get a lucky one shot” button.
A futuristic cowboy is boring. He sounds more interesting than a farm boy from Iowa that joins the army dad 76. I mean if McRee didn’t have his stun than he be trash hero instead of good one.
He used to bee the hero people with good aim and positioning could destroy with. But now the game has so many armours and barriers even the most skilled mccrees must rely on a stupid niche.

Genji what’s are you’re through on Hanzo dating your former teammate. Reporter D VA.
As a reaper main. I feel you.
I hate my bro, should have killed him right there in that castle…
He stole my man, though that sake ain’t half bad.
Moira doesn’t have a utility skill.
Well said,
Hiding behind walls with flashbang feels gross and I’ve seen many a McCree player do this.
Definition of lame,
I think this rework is the answer.
Primary fire: To make McCree more fun-intensive, the devs should replace his six-shooter with a 30m lasso. The lasso can be waved around McCree’s head by holding M1 which increases how far he can throw it to its max range of 30m. McCree does not slow down when swinging the lasso. Releasing M1 throws the lasso and through skill and determination a quality McCree can wrangle one (1) player from the enemy team for 75 damage. The lasso is a CC that applies a minor slow for 5 seconds. Mobility skills are disabled while lassoed. For the reload, McCree has to manually pull the lasso back to him before he can throw it again, meaning longer throws make for longer reloads. So you better hit your throws or face a shamefully long reload as your opponents and friends ridicule you with voicelines.
Secondary fire: Only available when McCree has successfully lassoed a target. McCree yanks his target toward him 12m. McCree can swing his cursor and use his movements to manipulate how the target travels toward him, like a more controllable Roadhog hook and turn. This allows for fun environmental kills. 3 sec cooldown.
Shift ability: Same old roll, but it kicks up dust to annoy.
E ability: Instead of flashbang, McCree’s new E ability is only available when you manage to lasso a target. It is called “tighten the noose” and applies a DOT on your lasso target of 25 dps for 5 seconds. It applies a “suffocate” effect for the duration, which is the same as a Sombra hack. Every hero will have suffocating sound effects/voicelines. 10 sec cooldown.
Ultimate “I thought I left the farm…”: McCree summons a stampeding herd of 6 cattle onto the battlefield that rush around for 6 seconds and harass the enemy. The cattle are melee only and moo very loudly. Each cow attack does 35 damage and applies a knockback. McCree can lasso the cattle and swing them around to beat his enemies. During his ultimate, McCree enters into a hyperfocused state and will throw, reel in, and yank around his lasso very quickly. McCree will also move 30% faster. Each individual cow can contest the point and have 300 health.
Ah yes.
Millennial tell tales of a time when reaper would conter the tanks, rather than the tanks countering reaper.
Lol, would the lasso be countered by fat boi roadhog?
…are you serious? What do you think fade is?
What about other hitscans like soldier? He has a healing pod and the only sprint in the game. Makes him kinda dumb downed too I think.
He’s designed to be the crutch for players coming from Call of duty and so on,
Basic main 76
Probably most any fat tank would counter my McCree, but they’ll still be annoyed while WE have fun.
