Yet Doom and Sombra aren’t meta for some reason even though they do good against Ball.
Doom in particular does good against Ball, Sigma, Zen and also any other support besides Brig (expect 1v1 situation) which will be played with Zen.
Somehow though people still pick up McCree instead of Doom. It’s just like he has the most overbuffed toolkit+stats out of any dps hero next to Tracer.
Hitscan are literally ruining this game right now. It’s starting to get really bland and stale to see every game a McCree paired with another hitscan or Echo.
However I fear Echo is just as broken but just controlled by these heros, fire is dealt with fire.
And no meta change will fix that. If we have rein zarya, mccree will still be meta. If we have bunker surprise McCree got made into a fantastic shield buster. Dive? Yeah good luck taking down a 225 HP cree with mercy pocket 24/7 and a brig on his ss.
There is no fixing other than overbuffing other heros to his level or just strictly nerfing him
I don’t think there’s anything particularly wrong with a hero being meta. At any given time there will be meta heroes.
What WOULD be concerning is if a meta hero is truly overpowered, but I don’t see much evidence to suggest that. McCree has always been popular, and now that Ashe got nerfed to kingdom come McCree is eating her lunch.
I… dunno… flash stops his roll and breaks tether when he’s basically in the middle of your team. He will never kill Ball solo but he gives the rest of his team to lay into him without them being sent flying all over the place. If anyone else has any other CC to hold him in place for a bit longer he’s almost guaranteed dead (or feeding 500 ult charge).
Sombra shuts him down for sure, but then you have a Sombra on your team…
His winrate. They are not going to nerf someone who underperforms just because people complain. Whenever they did, they met it with multiple compensation buffs.
how…does doom counter ball? like mccree stops that ball rolling and eats a full chunk of that uncritable hitbox with his fan the hammer. getting rid of the ball is more important than just inconvinencing it
Many Dps are good against Ball, ehy would you pick a Hero who is obly good against Ball instead of oicking a Hero who is good aganst Ball nd good gainst other Tank too? (Echo and Cree for example)
Against the crap players like me it’s not entirely useless slam/uppercut kills his momentum, slam can drag him back and punch breaks tether and stops him getting into the middle of your team for mass shields. However, Doom probably should off flanking somewhere rather than hanging out with the rest of the team whereas McCree will be holed up with the Tanks/Supports making him a more suitable bodyguard…
