I decided to post this in general discussion rather than comp, because it is something that can be worked at in the off-season, as well…
I am wondering if there are any good McCree suggested videos I can watch on Youtube, etc. for coaching. I know there are bot aim challenges etc. but as far as in-game players. I am looking for someone I can key in on as far as live or recorded videos.
Thank you
Watch IDDQD if you don’t already
Jayne has some educational videos generally speaking. I don’t really know of any streamers who play McCree >80% of the time these days. But iddqd is good. Barcode is very good too. She was on a McCree kick a few months ago, but from what I’ve seen she’s mixing it up more lately. They are both GM.
Also KarQ’s tip videos
and then of course lots of practice
can’t see this video for some reason. thanks tho.
Might be banned in your country.
Hey Kelocena,
I heard a lot about Jayne. Thanks for the info. I think that Jayne has a lot of instructionals on YouTube. McCree is one, Great!.. I think I am looking to improve my overall DPS game. I am a decent healer all around, and have a good command of tank duties. I think, I am ready to conquer DPS. I pick McCree because he is a great all around DPS. Soldier is sort of boring for me, same as Junk. I love my Phara, but am looking to branch out. Thank you for the tips for videos!
Just start your every day with one hour of heavy aim practice in your favorite aim training applicaion. You will become an ok McCree in a few weeks.
Thanks Pilt,
Are you talking the standard in game practice range for overwatch?
There are a number of programs that feature aiming drills. KovaaK’s FPS Aim Trainer, Aim Hero, Aimtastic, some I’m forgetting. Good way to focus on reflexes and muscle memory. You can also make custom skirmish games against bots that don’t shoot back in Overwatch, to actually get used to hitboxes and movement.
Again,
Thanks Pilt. I appreciate how you have come through.
You improve with McCree by playing him in game modes. Getting used to player movement, character specific hitboxes. Dont force aim drills too much use them to warm up or something like that, because players move differently from AI and practice targets. And you should set up on a lower sens for him to be able to hit more precise shoots. My 2 cents

just shoot shoot shoot and throw the dumb sleep stun dart fire cracker thing…lame toon.
Calvin is far better.
Imo the best way to aim as mcree is to track flick and always always think ahead of where you’re positioning yourself since he’s designed to feel like a 90’s shooter- you have no escape abilities so he’s all aim and brain. Make sure you always have an escape route. Be close enough to your team but find alt angles because he can two tap any squishy if he get’s an opening. He can kind of be played like a shorter range widow if you constantly change position looking for squishy deletes.
As far as aiming goes; track flicking works best imo.

You can’t have watched the two and srsly disagree. Calvin makes mcree look like an s tier hero. Every other day I see him demolish stacks of pros while he’s solo queing.
gms have 50% win rate, lowest in the game practically of all dps.
The answer: Don’t.
