We now know what a good 6v6 hero shooter looks like, so perhaps instead of staying all-in on PvP - the devs can take a break and work on lore and story missions.
Kotick is no longer there, and Overwatch isn’t going anywhere thanks to Microsoft.
Maybe it’s time for quality over quantity? Or are we beyond their infinite wisdom…
They need to focus on creating challenging scenarios, like if you put a soldier or Cassidy in above scenario it would be too easy but a hs only hanzo is remarkably challenging against fliers.

Stuff like that and not mindless practice bots with terrible pathing
They need to increase server capacity to include more node data for pathing.
Because they are paid, and at a high price for only 3 missions already created in 2019-2020 and made available in 2023 to make easy money.
It’s the greedy side of ABK that made them unpopular, not the disinterest in pve that everyone was excited about in 2019, and especially those who had been able to test them at Blizzcon 2019.
The game is free-to-play. Devs aren’t paying to do what they want, they’re paid if their updates bring enough money and to decide what to do, they look at the statistics and the community trends.
Fact is, PvE, free or not, aren’t the most popular modes. PvE missions with narration, exclusive level design cost much more money than Halloween PvE time limited event.
People paid 12 millions just for one Mercy skin but they’re too cheap to pay for whole PvE missions… right. Its always easier to think its someone else fault rather than admitting having an unpopular opinion.
People from Blizzcon were extatic everytime. Diablo Immortal might be the only exception.
I wouldn’t take people being in the boiling hype of Blizzcon (when not directly invited) as honest and objective.
Truth is, that you can find people who bought those missions and aren’t that hyped by those just because its a reality, its not that good.
All they need to do is add Archives event back, make it permanent and change the modifiers every week or day. Then make use of the NEW AREAS ADDED TO HAVANA, RIALTO AND KING’S ROW WHICH ALL HAPPEN TO BE ARCHIVES MAPS, for upgraded/updated archives story missions.
Once again, Archives which happened to be THE MOST POPULAR EVENT IN ALL OF OVERWATCH just behind anniversary which was cheating cos it had all events in one, would be the answer to this problem.
A lot of effort is kind of understating the scope of what the devs promised, and what the fans are expecting.
People blew their lid when Underworld wasn’t the magic the endlessly replayable bit that was teased, and a large part why were not getting anniversary missions any more.
Lol ya just do weeks if not months or years of work every day to keep it fresh and replayable! easy right?

They do need to get some form of pve going on as well and get back to cool cinematics, overwatch is not just a PvP despite it being popular the stuff that other parts added to overwatch was important as well.
People didn’t vibe with what the devs wanted to provide, as in junkenstien 2 frankstien bride, the story missions, underworld, the moria mythic season with the space alien stuff, the tower defense mode. With the hero trials being the only thing people will return to.
And even without the Talents and the like. It’s pretty clear people just didn’t really want that sort of thing.
They tried the community said no this isn’t worth perusing.
All those lacked replayability and poorly done but archives is being requested to this day, what they need is more of a l4d2 style pve with a bit of elden ring booss battles and some cool challenge duels that are more hero specific challenges.
The bones are there.
But ya i would also rate cinematics a more priority atleast for now and a easier goal to achieve
Lol they improved quite a bit my guy. underworld was an archive mission with more replayability added in. By mixing up the waves, battery locations, and in many cases forcing you to split the team up to tackle multiple objectives at the same time. Which in it’s self is a new game mode altogether. With loads of new enemy types mimiking Left 4 dead style gameplay interactions.
