First QP game as Mauga. 35k damage. I thought Mauga was already decently strong when we playtested him. He just felt like a 3rd DPS with too much of his power in his damage instead of his survivability.
11 buffs later. 35k damage in my first game as him. Against Bastion and Reaper. There is no way this man isn’t getting hotfix nerfed.
Edit: MDSVT1 Here is the replay code if any of you want to watch. Keep in mind that the Doomfist is a master tier player, and my lobbies tend to be masters+. It’s very common for me to see top 500’s in my lobbies because I am a sweaty quickplay player.

There is no way they didn’t see this coming. The man’s damage output was already insane, everyone just agreed that he spent too much time hugging cover because of his lack of mitigation. I just can’t get over them giving him EVERY suggested buff possible and thinking it would be remotely balanced.
He’s going to be selling like hotcakes then nerfed into being only slightly broken is my guess.

High damage is kind of similar to Dva and yes he’s a bit tankier but again still only been out properly for a few hours and nobody’s going to have mastered him yet or how to counter him (this is why he isn’t in comp)

Ana, Reaper, and Bastion all do well against tanks, especially Mauga. In this case they played all 3 and still got destroyed.
High damage is fine on tanks. 35k damage on my very first QP game with him is insanely high. I do expect him to have some of the highest tank damage numbers but this is crazy.
Yyyup! I expact it will happen VERY soon. Just long enough for them to cash in on the initial hype then nerf him down to being semi-reasonable.

TBF when he was up for testing a few weeks back his issue was survivability. Maybe lower the damage back? Almost everything else it feels like he NEEDS.

Yeah, they would have to majorily reduce his damage but I’m not against it. He IS supposed to be a tank. The one nerf to his damage they gave him was not enough.
Apparently he has already been banned from the flashops tournament for being absolutely brain dead. From what I’ve heard all of the scrims so far were just two Maugas shooting at each other until someone on the other team ends up randomly dying! It’s kind of funny (=^ ω ^=)

Nerf? Both guns did 4.5 each for a total of 9. Now they are both 5 for a total of 10. I think it’s the tighter spread more than anything. But they have to be careful since his heal is based on his damage. If both guns did say… 8 or 7 they would need to increase the % healed but because it also effects his teammates it would quickly be a problem itself.

I believe it was 25% fire rate increase when firing both guns removed. Which is a nerf, but not nearly enough. Yeah they definitely need to strike a fine balance between his damage and his survivability. It was lopsided into damage when we first tried him. Now he has way too much of both.
He was over buffed. Even my buff suggestions weren’t that far.

Was the enemy team consisting of toddlers.
Cause most games with a mauga in it, they get stomped. Hero is garbage lol The buffs don’t fix him being a fundamentally flawed hero.

They overbuffed mauga, especially with double hitscan dps, just not fun.

He is intentionally broken for people who purchase the Battle Pass. Why did you even buy it if you did not want the advantage? Don’t tell me you did it for the souvenir of Orisa’s appendage.
