I cannot win any games, they are all decided before the game even starts.
“Just do batter”. I cant carry new players vs top ranks EVERY game.
I have never seen match making this bad.

If it makes you feel any better, I am also struggling out here. To win, I mean. Dominating the lobby is effortless because it is not that the enemies are decent or anything. They are just not as bad as whatever I was left with.

since the start of this season i’ve been in a very bad streak, is like 10 loses, 1 win
and yes a lot of these matches are “impossible” to win no matter what we do, like a child trying to knock down a professional boxer

I love the amount of times I hear ‘losing a lot? Sounds like a you problem’ when I’ve had matches where, as a tank, I’ve distracted the entire enemy team and my DPS literally did not even attempt to help or kill anything.
I’ve had games where as a DPS I’ve killed 3, died, and my team still lost in a 2 v 4.
I’ve even had games where I’ve accidentally killed several enemies while trying to heal team mates (I play a lot of Ana), and my team still lost most of our fights.
If the answer is to be so good that you’re carrying that many matches; then it’s no longer a ‘git gud’ situation. Because at that point, you’re smurfing/sitting in a rank you don’t belong in if you’re that good. Because no one is that good in their elo consistently. And if everyone is the same skill rank, then there is no 1 v 5ing in a carry situation.
It literally is not possible and the answer should not be that you have to solo carry your team to win a fair number of your games. As it is a TEAM BASED FPS game.

oh god those situations are the worst, i have seen my teammates losing a 4v1 to a moira after i killed 4 of the enemy team and died in the process

It is completely and entirely random in QP. I’m convinced. There’s no way there’s “fair matchmaking” when the other DPS is 9 and 15 and everyone else eclipses his score by a country mile.

Oh god no, it’s never been balanced in QP. I’ve had games when I was hardstuck in low Gold where the enemy team literally had top500’s and my team had Masters and Bronze. And that’s fine for QP, but it’s absolutely unacceptable in competitive.
(Edit: I should clarify that I haven’t been hardstuck Gold since Season…7? It’s been a few years since I was stuck below 2400-2500)

This matchmaking is EXACTLY like Destiny’s Crucible matchmaking.
Bungie even had the guts to admit their matchmaking was deciding outcomes before the match even started. Years later and it still hasn’t improved despite their many alleged attempts.
If Bungie can admit it and still somehow maintain this amazing reputation with Destiny, I just don’t see why Blizzard doesn’t admit it. It honestly feels like this is how PvP games of today are intended to be designed. They’re just gambling gachas with a first person shooter skin slapped on top of them.

Weirdly, this happened to me a couple of days ago. I kill 3, and die in the process. I think capping the point is in the bag because it’s an enemy Moira vs a tank, 1 dps, and 2 supports. Joke was on me, 4 people combined couldn’t kill her, she kills both of our supports, by which point her tank and one dps have respawned and come back, and they kill our remaining tank and dps.
The cherry on top?
Some duckhead on my team at the end proclaiming “dps diff” when me and my co-dps have the highest damage and elims in the lobby.

Last 4 games, all losses
Route 66 - tank played dva vs zarya, refused to swap and fed all game
Suravasa - dps overextended and died every time we capped point causing us to lose the moment we start getting progress
Rialto - tank goes jq and flanks all game while dps afk in spawn
Lijiang tower - our illari uses her ult throws it off the map then jumps off after

I get gm1 players or top500s in a lot of my games as tank in low diamond, with golds on my team. Its not balanced, or the game is just wildly weird and out of wack, even if people’s mmr is ROUGHLY balanced
it feels like absolute trash to play
I feel like playing it out and just accepting that I’m gonna have 10 game runs with 8 losses over and over (this has been happening the past few days and is making me want to uninstall)
but my mmr doesnt seem to be going down, I’m not getting easier matches.
I think there’s just SO few tank players that you will have to vs gm1 baptiste players when youre practically plat
its so lame lol

I’ve actually uninstalled because of this. QP isn’t fun when you’re getting dominated on coupled with the leavers. Comp isn’t fun when people aren’t in the ranks they are in. It’s utterly ridiculous. I’ll probs return after a season or two of break

i hate leavers as much as the next guy but I’ve started leaving loads of matches as well because the game quality is just absolute dog.
this game is supposed to be fun and quick play is supposed to not be stressful but clearly theres like 10 massive issues going on at the same time that matchmaking is total trash

To be serious though, the matchmaker is… well, it’s not great, is it? It wasn’t amazing in OW1, but it had some consistency to it (most of the time.)
In OW2 they had to rebuild the matchmaker from scratch and it is clear something has gone horribly wrong. The game was rushed out in an unfinished state, so here we are with a busted (and, I’m guessing, untested) matchmaker.
Take heart though, everyone playing is in the same leaky boat as you. A lot of us are having a similar experience. So, for every game you have that is ‘Team Potato vs OWL candidates’, the enemy are just as likely to have the indentical experience next game.

Throwers have to derank without their duos on their throwaway accounts to group up and boost them. It’s a problem…

Nope. This is absolutely not fine unless there are no players to pick from. But then the game should warn you before joining the queue there is a shortage of players and you may end up as a training dummy for players out of your league.
How can you even defend this abuse.
Honestly, I would feel better if I knew this was simply due to sadism. Like the devs had this psychosexual disorder and crated those matches on purpose to secretly watch and gain some gratification from that. That would at least make sense.
