Im a bronze - silver player and I play the game for fun. Why does every game I play in quick play have a plat, diamond, or sometimes a grandmaster. I can hold my own fine I’m a decent player and I don’t honestly have an issue with this but I don’t see why im facing such elite competitors. Albeit I get plats, and diamonds on my team; it seems strange Im being placed with such high ranks. Anyone have a idea why it’s being so silly?

If you have formed this thought by looking at the name cards, then it is purely a skill issue. While someone may be successful in role X, they may not be successful in role Y. Therefore, you should improve yourself and aim for a better position. Also, keep your endorsement level high so that balanced players come to you.

While I can absolutely reason with that and it is the most logical thought process, I have asked various team mates their ranks respective to their role and my point still holds, they are plats, and diamonds respectively if they’ve telling the truth. But you’re definitely right on the skill issue part lmao, I just believe the game is being silly.
Discussing whether the game is silly or not is a matter of taste and preference, but there is still a good matchmaking system from the last season. The current one is not as good, but it’s the best of the worst. If you play ranked matches, you can enjoy the game more by playing with people who are close to your skill level, rather than in quick play.
