Why is the matchmaking still horrible? I got placed gold 2, worked out to a game off plat, and now I’m about to lose gold 2 because in my last 10 games I’ve either been paired with people who don’t know how to play the game, or people who are grieving or just leaving the game. 10 GAMES IN A ROW!!! It doesn’t matter if I have a great game and perform well above the rest of my teammates, I can’t win a game because I’m getting dragged down by 1 person every game. Meanwhile, every team I face has a full team of competent players (who I still do better than on an individual scale) and I lose. Every game I win, I carry the rest of my team. I can’t even remember the last time I had a game where my teammates were carrying me. I’m sick of playing a game where having a good performance means nothing because I get paired with someone who can’t come close to pulling their weight.
id say give it time for the “reset” to rebalance players but there wasn’t one lol. Just same old system with a few UI tweaks. At least a real one, people got decayed but thats about it.
I had 7… SEVEN placement matches in a row, where the tank had glued their W key down, unbound their ability keys, turned off chat and walked behind corners, out of line of sight, right into a 1v5 with the enemy team, non-stop feeding, never swapping until the very last second, and even then, never a counter pick to anything the enemy team was using, or they just left the game halfways through.
That was SEVEN losses in a row, all because of this horrid matchmaking system, that puts completely fresh accounts into my team and a penalty system that punish the leaver’s team more than the leavers themselves…
They need to do a freaking hard MMR reset instead of this BS SR ‘reset’.
The system is way too flawed.
Personal performance means nothing in this game.
You can play as a god, but when you’re the only decent player on the team, and your bronze-gold team is facing either a stack of smurfs or Diamonbd-Masters, it’s impossible to get into a decent rank.
Before anyone says “Git Gud”. Let me pre-answer with “G.T.F.O”…
Getting good is only possible when you’re playing against players with equal or slightly higher MMR/SR.
You cannot “Git Gud” and rank up when you’re carrying a team, but still lose, because you had leavers and throwers in every single match.
The current matchmaking system is just as bad if not worse than in the previous seasons, and the ranking system is just as bad if, again, not worse. The difference is that now, we get to see some of the information between matches.
I’ve had “lost a calibration match” 3 times now, and every time it deranks me 40% or more. The trouble is these matches are impossible to win. What am I supposed to do as a support when my team can’t even get out the spawn doors.
Absolute trash. Why bother to play well if it’s just going to hand you these fixed matches to wipe out your progress?
Absolutely awful new system have been having a losing streak with only stomp games, not even a chance. Top DPS with highest kills in every match since now, but still loosing. This is nowhere near fun.
i get paired with duos and edaters that only pocket each other and do nothing useful all game
Crazy how individual stats don’t matter because it’s a “team” game.
Also the same game that went F2P which not only brings more smurfs and cheaters, but also people who don’t own a mic.

Because the queue times are low.
How can people be so blind? DIdn’t they play OW1? I really don’t get it.
You get fast queues and then wonder why the matchmaking is bad. I mean hello? Isn’t it obvious WHY YOUR DAMN QUEUE WAS SO FAST???!!?!?!
If you want better matchmaking, you need TO ASK BLIZZARD FOR LONGER QUEUE TIMES. In which said better matching can occur. You can’t just magic wand up players of the correct rank. They need to actually be logged on and queued.
Blizzard was SO SCARED OW2 WOULD FAIL BECAUSE OF OW1 QUEUE TIMES that they made a sacrifice. The matchmaking got slaughtered, so you could have fast queues. OW1 was the reverse, they cared then about matchmaking quality, and so the queues were appropriately long to accommodate.

< 1 minute tank
Yeah, well it also wasn’t as obvious that people were better than others but after this patch it’s worse with showing the smallest flaw in a team.
yea this new system is pretty broken. I’m having master/gm game in “diamond/plat lobbys”. And which ever unlucky team got a real plat player is instantly lost because it’s impossible to carry the massive skill different.
In one game the only random in my team (a dps) literally went 0-0-7 at the end of the game. When we checked his profile he was plat/diamond last season meanwhile our stacks were masters+ and so is their side base of the title/profiles. How is that fair for him or us?
It’s no wonder people are feeling like they are getting stomped.
This is happening to me too!! My teams cannot play the game and I’m put against amazing players. I don’t know anyone that plays overwatch so I can’t form a team :/.
I am having this exact experience. 1 or 2 dps or supports on one team are actually plat 3. Then the other team is loaded with Diamond+ players. Seen a few GMs in my games… Tank experience is already trash but try playing tank when your Gold Mercy is up against a Masters Zen.
I agree with you matchmaking is completely terrible… One game we fully rolled the opposite team & on the next game we get people that throw the game like tanks that never counter or dps that don’t put enough pressure & our team just gets destroyed… On the trailer they made it look like you popping off & being on top of your team would count for something towards your rank I guess not… You gain 20% - lose 20%… It’s annoying how stuck you can get
It beggars belief that they chose to do this while at the same time removing PBSR.
More lies. To be expected from these con artists at this point. I was hoping we might see a different side to blizzard once Bobby had gone, but if anything they seem even worse.
I had this happen. My tank rank got demolished lol.
Maybe 4-5 games into my placements I got a group of 3 gm’s that didn’t let anyone on my team live lol Literally plat 3 gm’s eating good ig
Because they reset everyone’s MMR, meaning everyone is squished together until people play their way into their correct ranks again.
Idk why they did it in the first place, but hey, lots of people have asked for it over the past years so there you go 
They didnt though. All it was was yet another cosmetic decay. Nothing was actually reset on the backend of things. It was simply another cosmetic update that did nothing. All it did was decay ranks down, it wasnt a reset it was a global cosmetic rank decay. Then the placements were simply to recalculate you back to the approximate SR you were at prior. Just more of nothing. Honestly, the games kinda dead. Leave comp to the streamers. The rest of us should just stick to QP
You can say that, but between your words and their words I trust theirs. Not that Blizzard is incredibly trustworthy or anything, but neither is a random guy in these forums 
Though they did say “soft” reset, I assume this means they basically squished everyone closer together, but they did it with MMR, not just SR. Might be wrong, of course.
Honestly there was no reset, it was just another decay. Multiple accounts placed different ranks again lol. If there was a reset theyd have placed relatively the same ranks. But they more or less stayed where they were last season.
