Matchmaking is busted

Simple. Had around 50% win rate. Suddenly one play session the team quality dropped to flaming turd quality + got stomped. The stomps continued. The fun disappeared with the 50% win rate, now much lower.

This was as if a matchmaking switch was flipped.

Not talking a losing streak. The feel of game is different because teammate quality dropped alot. Hundreds of games later the problem is basically worse. Matchmaking did not settle into something playable, fun, or fair. There are no fair teams, very little fun to be had.

The team matchups are nothing resembling fair, and do not result in anything near 50% win rate… to repeat myself, was around 50% win rate to start. Was like a switch was flipped in the middle of a gaming session…

Game basically increased drastically in difficulty, so to speak, however that makes this sound more interesting than it is. Majority unwinnable games because teammates are effectively suicidal + cannot hit anything… enemy teams just stomp majority of games.

This experience is precisely different from before, when teams were more fairly match. All the games are unfair now, and most are unwinnable.

You’re not supposed to just be at a 50% win rate, you’re supposed to aim higher than that because over time the player base will improve as a whole and slowly move up a bit. If you are staying at 50% it means you have stagnated and will eventually drop down until you even out again because you aren’t keeping up with the skill curve.

Aside from being unrealistic, very off topic.

Don’t know if you’re trying to be antagonistic, but off topic anyways.

Shrink and force the development group to ease up the MM, so high rank and low rank players don’t get stuck waiting for HOURS for a match. Are the matches fun? NO

MM is totally trash, the magnificent game when it puts you in the “Loss queue” 99.9% of games will be lost.

This is just how EOMM works. You are not meant to have 50% chance of winning, it’s not profitable. Rigging games in certain patters is profitable and Blizzard/Activision holds several patents regarding “optimized”, read unfair, matchmaking. I’m not crazy and you are not crazy. OW1 had different matchmaking for years. You can go read their patents, they contain rationalizations.

The population is too low. Tanks and DPS are always light years behind my progression as a support player.

Bad developers didn’t make a good matchmaker.

I’m definitely having a lot of this at the moment in QP. No so much with comp. It feels like a ridiculous difficulty spike that absolutely in no way matches my ability. It is not a fun experience. Really puts me off ever spending money on ow2.

That’s because no one can play tank as much as OW2 support without going insane.

This happens from time to time with patches, season resets. Me personally…2 rounds and if my teammates are obvious noobs who shouldn’t be on my team: stop playing. Blizz devs are incompetent.

thats how a bell curve works

Searched online for what EOMM means. Hmm. Was thinking about this earlier. If I bought a skin, maybe the matchmaking would improve.

Current situation is kind of like, I am being treated like a slave who is put in terrible situations to exist for the wellbeing of the other team. The matches are that unfair, that I feel I am being used.

The actual win rate is closer to 20% now. When it was around 50%, that was a lot more fun. Definitely feels rigged up to do this all very unnaturally.

That’s 20% for awhile… not a streak. Before was 50-60% for awhile, not a streak.

There’s some OW2 players who talk about matchmaking and say just ‘you are wrong’ in many variations of flagrant colorfulness… when in fact those players hardly have any details, and probably have not experienced or noticed the problem described.

Middle of play session suddenly began this journey of turd teams vs regular teams, and it never ended.

lets take a few things at face value.

1.what would blizz gain from rigging your games?
2. since you joined 1 day ago, we must assume you are a new player
3. since you are a new player, your skill, knowledge, and capabilities will be limited
4. because you are new, experienced players will take advantage of you being out of place, pushing too far, using all your cool downs, and probably not being able to aim well enough to be a threat

if you are playing comp, then you were placed too high and probably got hard carried by your team during placements and the correction is now happening

all you can do is practice, learn the maps, learn enemy cool downs, and work on your aim, proper dpi settings are extremely helpful in aiming

Why do you keep posting tangents at me? Ignored your previous post because was obviously some tangential bait.

Seems like you’re hallucinating or something.

Welcome to the forums, you’re going to see a lot of insane stuff. Alot of people are complaining about the matchmaking, yea it is busted. It’s really poor quality compared to previous seasons. I’ve been dodging QP after doing the weekly and realizing that im on a 37 loss streak. My teammates used to be endorsement 4 or higher. They are now 1’s sometimes 2’s. The matches feel very weird to play when your teammates stand around.

That is every loss streak ever, no? It is normal for me. All of a sudden it’s like I’m playing in low elo lobbies but only on one side. Its super frustrating to deal with but eventually it gives up and you get normal games again.

Don’t worry about this 50% win rate thing.
Just play until you reach the point where you have less and less impact. thats where you’ll find your rank.
If the system was broken these players in top 500 wouldn’t make top 500 every season. I’m masters, and i get to masters every time. I’ll probably never get to GM because i’m not a GM player. I’ll never drop to gold or silver because i’m not a gold or silver player.

well, if you’ve read up about business practises you may understand that ‘rigging’ games is a powerful tool for revenue raising. in short, as a business (any) you want to drive an increase in revenue, typically by offering incentives to ‘encourage’ the customer to part ways with money. of course this might not be happening…
