Since last Thursday, idk WHAT the hell has been going on, but the amount of smurfs on the enemy team I’ve faced, or just trolls, inexperienced people, unskilled players, and people NOT in VC on MY team, has SKYROCKETED. I’ve played this game religiously almost daily since the launch of OW1. I know some days are just bad days, and that i might not even be playing to the best of my abilities, but come ON… A whole WEEK of this nonsense. I just played a game as Zarya on Kingsrow… 65-8 with 24k damage… And we LOST. You cant make this stuff up. The highest amount of kills on the red team…37. We lost. I cant do anymore. I cant take this crap anymore. Blizz, this game is a joke, u have no idea what you guys are doing. For the first time in 7 years, I’ve uninstalled OW. Unbelievable.
You new to Overwatch or…? This has been a thing since 2016… So what’s the point of the post? All the forums is gonna tell you is you’re being matched to your correct MMR 
I know the matchmaking has been bad since launch, but this whole last week, i kid u not, i wish i were exaggerating but i can count all the wins ive had on one hand. With hours and hours of loses. I play at least 4 hours a day, weekends LONGER still. 5 wins. In 7 days. Have i played perfectly all games, no. But being a high diamond/Master level player, im not STUPID. I know how to play ALL roles, multiple characters each, and still. No matter what i do, i cant help the trash teammate ive been cursed with.
Nope. All in your head. It’s not, you’re 100% correct, but sorry, this forum will let you burn down their villages and let you skin them alive before they would ever allow someone to say that smurfing is a problem. It’s in your head. It doesn’t matter whether you have proof, no proof, a valid argument, are logical, reasonable, none of that matters. It’s just in your head no matter what, even if their lives and their families lives depended on it.
Here’s the thing. No one wants to allow people in the ranks below them to play OW with people at their own ranks. Why? Oh god, I have no idea. But they won’t let it happen, even if it meant the universe was going to explode.
And you don’t even sound low ranked or new. New players, lol, you aren’t welcome… Not my opinion, but that’s the message Blizzard sends by the way they do everything in their power to encourage as much smurfing as possible.
Try making a new account and playing the first 50 QP games… You seriously won’t believe what the poor new players are thrown into from the very start. I mean, you can be new and play this game and go 5 matches straight without your team making it out of spawn. You would think that Blizzard’s primary goal, above and beyond everything else, is the make absolute sure that new players feel as unwelcome as humanly possible and to get them to uninstall ASAP.
And look online… you can see there are obscene numbers of “fresh smurf accounts” being sold. Waaaaay more than OW1… Bc now you have to win 50 QP matches in order to play comp… So, people are willing to pay $15 for fresh smurf accounts with 50 QP wins, but no comp yet.
So what does this mean? It means that the people who sell these smurf accounts will play QP and try their best to win those 50 fast… So you have GM’s, using smurf accounts and trying to dominate, SATURATED throughout the “new” player elo. And then, of course, lots of times they want to speed up the winning so they win-trade by getting 5 on one team and 1 on the other that throws…
None of this is new, but the new part is that they are making BANK because people are willing to pay for accounts that have the phone number verification part done already and the 50 wins complete.
If you start a new account right now, you’ll see, I’m not exaggerating, in fact I think I’m being generous when I say 96% of the players you face are smurfs. 4% legit new players. Try playing 50 matches w a new account and ask every single match in text chat, “hey, is anyone here actually new to OW? just curious bc I am.” and I BET wink, wink, that in 50 matches, you’ll get maybe 2-3 “yes, I’m new” replies. Is that a scientific study, no, of course not. But we all know that new people are usually fine with saying, “yah man im new”. But no one is new. You ask and crickets every time.
AND, it’s obvious anyway… it’s nonstop fresh accounts the are CLEARLY not new to OW… lol
BUUUUUUUUUTTTTT, nope, it’s all in your head.
Saddest part? Blizzard could put an IMMEDIATE STOP to this by simply spot checking new accounts every few weeks with 2FA. One adjustment and it’s all fixed. And they know it. And they won’t do it… and the forum will go from calling everyone who spends $1 on OW a “shill” and “whale” to suddenly flippin’ a 180 and defending the ranking system like it’s god’s greatest gift to the universe.
Lol they are not smurfs, they are cheaters. The game is absolutely infested right now.

I’ve reported dozens of people boosting/throwing to derank, ghosting, hacking, and using the N word and haven’t had a single confirmation since OW1.
Pretty sure the only priority is the shop.
No cause I thought I was going crazy. I know QP isn’t ran on the same matchmaking levels as Comp but for the past week, I’ve been getting new players on my team when I’m a legit masters player. The first couple of times I passed it off as Smurfing but everything about them screamed inexperienced. It was weird to see
Quickplay’s only priority is getting players into a match, which is why it’s more often than not a stomp. QP matchmatching hasn’t been a priority in months.
They got lord Freiza angry at the matchmaking. Not looking good here
One of the biggest issue is also the buyers of those accounts messing up the ranks. The higher you go the less legit legacy accounts you’ll see. Just a bunch of boosted F2P accounts. Both legit boosted and those that got major MMR bump from their original ranks. Yes sometimes you are held back for a various reason, but half the time you are in your actual rank and thus end up throwing in matches out of your league.
Freiza do what u must do. Goku isn’t here right now so is the earth fighters. So unleash the most fearsome form and teach them the lesson. Go for it.
Maybe if you compliment the enemy team on how well they’re spawn trapping you, they’ll stop doing it via the power of positivity?
I totally agree with this. It’s like a domino effect of consequences that all delegitimize OW comp across all ranks.

I’m not sure if those are exact quotes, but it’s always those same things, they seem like super nice people. 
Yeah the amount of players out of place is pretty weird right now. There’s been plenty of matches ruined completely by just one player playing DPS and having less than 3k damage at the end of the game, being the worst DPS in the entire team supports included. Regardless of whether that happens to you or the opponents just completely makes the game unplayably horrible. Winning those matches feels horrible or boring and losing them makes you swap to Valorant or Apex
You either deal with it or stop playing, those are your two options because nothing will change about it from Blizzards side.
The rank with most players in OW2 are platinum which I’m in. I have both gold and diamond players pretty much every game so I could just imagine how bad it is in even lower ranks.
Yesterday I had a comp game with 0 and 1 kills on my team while the enemy had 12-18 kills per player. There is definitelly much less players now compared to previous seasons. Even OW1 was much more balanced and mostly had players within your own rank play together.
I’ve had the same issue, being GM support for 6 years I can’t even do an unranked to GM anymore, at some point after climbing to masters 1 with 75% WR the game said “nope, ain’t happening” and started giving me teammates who were low diamond at best in OW and got pushed up the ranks by the influx of new players.
Basically I’m expected to carry most games I’m playing, as support, weirdly in OW it felt easier to carry but in OW2 since it’s more deathmachy if your teammates are feeding apes you can do your best every game and still lose constantly.
A couple of days ago I was playing on a GM1 account and I kid you not I’ve seen people die over 20 times in a game, I had never seen that before in GM, it’s absolutely pathetic, then you check their profile and realize they were 3400 peak as dps in OW and they have the balls to flame you too.
Blizzard could also revert queue times to be longer like they were in OW1.
its been nauseating since 2018. but this takes the cake since overwatch 2 launched.
It doesn’t help with the game being “free” so everyone can keep making accounts repeatedly.
I actually had a pretty bad session last time too. Lots of blatant derankers, like a Mercy only getting 2k healing in comp, or a hanzo who just sat twirling the whole game without shooting.
