I don’t know if this happened to many people or is it just me, but the auto fill is horrible. Today i played three games at the time of writing, and out of three, two were fills, and i literally got dropped into the match the exact moment when defeat screen came in. I play unranked right now since i’m trying to unlock ranked so it’s not like i lost anything, i just find it strange.
Matchmaking is broken. Every match is a stomp, mostly losses on my end. This is utter tragic bombshell of a game
Should play ranked… the amount of one sided matches this season is insane. One team all in single digit elims and the other all in 20-30 elims is legitimately hilarious how OW math put these matches together then penalize players for being placed in that match.
its a system designers issue because they dont take into an account that the clock or the progress of a match is coming to a close. Which should be a simple re-code of:
“Check match in progress” ,
“last 1:30 of match?” = true or false" -
True = do not place player in this active match (summarized of course). EZ.
The one thing that should have been enforced for Overwatch is that any time a player leaves more than two matches in Overtime or the last 1:30 of a match, the people in question are not doing it out of necessity.
Which should constitute a 15 minute ban period
The approach of them doing 2 in 20 games left played at any point in time hasn’t solved their issues and people dont care.
Not quite so easy because it’s not always clear when a match will end. It could be the last 1:30 of a first or second point of a payload map. It could also be that one team is at 60% progress on the second point of a KoTH map.
Both of these cases it’s not clear whether it’s close to ending or not; we could backfill and then have the game end immediately, or we could choose not to backfill and then have the game go on for another 5 minutes. In these cases, I’d say we have to error on the side of backfilling, and risk that someone could come in just as the game ends.
But I do agree that there are cases where we really do know for sure that it’s about to end like the last 30 seconds of the final point on a payload map or both teams over 80% on the third round of KoTH. In those cases, we definitely shouldn’t backfill.
DoA - Defeat on Arrival
Doing you a favor of not having to suffer a full game of Riggedwatch / Onesidedwatch.
It’s fine.
The ragequit people that are leaving matches right before a loss will get suspended and slowly be filtered out as the season progresses so you will have this happen less and less.
Before we had the leaver penalty system, you could have backfill dead end defeat matches back to back to back to back to back …
It happens to me quite a bit, like once every ten games or something. Its sucks but sometimes I join in and I get “VICTORY”. Very rare but its a nice touch.
