Why did I play a dia3-champ5 range match that wasn’t even considered wide they just queued into it normally

No. completely broken would mean you can’t get a match at all.

Such a melodramatic statement. You played cod? Apex? Halo? OW is so many level better than those on match making it isn’t even close.
Ive played and climbed the ranks in those games, even competed in old halo games at tourneys. OW is by far the worst of all them. Best mechanics and visuals though.

You’re conflating your enjoyment of a game, for a system being “bad”.
Halo, is known for having some of the worst match making in history. Even to a point where it wouldn’t find games.
OW, is a game where it is heavily reliant on every play pulling in the same direction. This, far too commonly, doesn’t happen and match quality suffers. This isn’t match making. Nor is you just not enjoying a game as much as others.
At the end of the day. If those games were better, you’d be playing them instead of this.
Just had stadium match. Team was soo bad.
I sat in spawn for half the rnd and got MVP
Next rnd I went afk, was playing my android game, pickin my nose…got MVP again.

Halo 2,3, reach used an in house system called True Skill. It was indeed truly a skill based system. To this day halo 3 is widely regarded as one of the best shooters and best pvp experiences in gaming history.
Bungie then went on to make Trials of Osiris for D1 and D2 which again, until recent times, was regarded as one of the best competitive experiences. So much so people made a living off just one mode being played fri-sun.
I still play most games too, I rotate them. Everytime I come back to OW the matchmaker is always the worst. All ranks, times, roles. Like I said best visuals and mechanics imo though.

The matchmaking of Overwatch has been a rancid steamy pile of garbage for quite a while now, to the point where it is on a negative feedback loop of poor matchmaking resulting in unbalanced matches, resulting in inaccuracies in MMR which then proceeds to result in more poor matchmaking, resulting in even worse matches, and so on. The Competive integrity has kinda gone out the window at this point

True Skill was their version of mmr. Not match making
