Here is an example from real world situation: Governement doesnt want to repair a route which you have to use every day, so you look for an alternative. Governement doesnt likes that you dont use their bad road anymore which damages your car - so they add a fee to your alternative route to encourage you from traveling there. Did it solved the problem? No! But still plenty of people will advocate governements solution.
AND THATS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM!
I hope you all know that is what?
bad road = bad unbalanced unfun and unwinnable match
How is this a real-world example? In the real world the government would build a better alternate route and charge you to use it. People would pay because they donât want to ruin their car.
At this point the devs should just tighten the matchmaking just so players can see those juicy 20-30 minute queues and then they can decide if they hate it. Which they will.
How? Every game system gathers about players every possible data. Not only W/L ratioâŚ
KD
Hits/miss
tracking succes
healing done/received
reactions
cd ussage
etc etc etc
If they combine toghether only 10% of the gatherered stats, it cannt happen that a bronzer player appears in Platinum game! Take a note
edit: for the potatoe who said 20-30 min qeue⌠This happens only in Bronze and very high ranks! What a % population in those 2? Below 5%??? For lets say Gold - Master is enough players. You r delusional
They are right that the current match making system is abyssmal and needs to account for more than it does. I needs to account for stacked allies and try to match players 1 for 1 instead of an MMR average. This game doesnât have so few players this isnât reasonable or possible.
lol that like everything that has been holding blizzard back as a whole.
i dont think they have actually solved a single problem in years. They just add things that can âhandleâ the original, but are also a problem cause they have to be good enough.
so now you have 2 problems, cause the original still exists if the tailored âfixâ.
so now we have 50 problems⌠and this goes for balance, balance and talents that punishing you for switching, match making and everything really.
Which is a real same cause the ideas are really good and interesting
They already match players per role per team instead of going with averages. Dunno how you would account for stacked allies, other than they will prefer putting groups vs groups, but of course it doesnt always happen.
They donât do this. For QP or Stadium. It makes matches pretty rough at times.
They need to try and match groups vs groups. For example a 5 stack should only be against a 3 stack and a duo or a 4 stack and 1 solo. But never more than 1 solo player. The issue is 5 stacks are inherently favored right now because the match making doesnât value it at all when in reality its an easy trick for more wins. The odds are if you 5 stacks youâre going against 2 or more soloâs.
I mean Iâm all for more performance trackingâŚI think it SHOULD be a part a persons mmrâŚâŚbut thatâs still such a small part of what happens during matches
The second someone joins a match and decides they want to play a hero theyâve never played, or they want to play with their buddy thatâs 1000 SR lower than they are, or that they think it would be funny to try to spawn camp someone instead of playing with the rest of their team, or that they are not switching off the hero theyre playing thatâs being hard countered, or that that they want to try and get some achieve, or that they want to throw, cheat, leaveâŚâŚetc etc etcâŚstuff that happens in like every single match - all the performance tracking in the world means nothing
Match quality (whatâs really being complained about here) is so much more than the playerâs MMR
Just as a fyi, the game has had performance based mmrâŚâŚit wasnât tangibly better and had its own issues as well (boosting in particular)
Why does the âgovernmentâ care what road you use in the example? They donât like someone using the better road? Why?
Real world example: you donât understand basic things about the world, including what motivates other people and institutions. You apply this poor level of reasoning to an unrelated concept and embarrass yourself with the depth of your ignorance and faulty assumptions.
Yeah, you go to âhistoryâ, create a replay code. Click on the symbol to the right of the game in your replay history. Paste the code in there. Write why youâre reporting it.
I only save it for the really unplayable stomps though. Weâre talking 'one side sitting in spawn whilst the other murders anyone who pokes their head out. Not just âI lost and Iâm feeling salty.â
The only way your analogy works would be to look at playersâ opinions of it.
45% of players know the matchmaker is complete trash
45% of players are so brainwashed, they think itâs working just fine
10% of players are in groups that are less affected, or totally unaffected by the matchmaker
