As a Ana main and with a ton of hours in the game you can clearly see a pattern developed with the types of players it gives you.
Team makes proper meta, communicates and properly preforms: Win
next match
Team choses whatever, refuses to talk, plays mains into counters, tilts easily, no synergy and no ult combining : Lose
next match
Team makes proper meta, communicates and properly preforms: win
repeat till your brain hurts.
Its soo sickingly clearly a pattern that I can see it happening right at the hero select screen. Winning team: Ask whats needed, Picks heroâs who synergize and coordinate
Losing team: 4dps 1 tank 1 healer(me), playing defensive heros on attack and attack heros on defense. No coordination and everyone has there own goals.
Now I wouldnât be so angry if this were a rare accurance or if this happened between winning streaks or losing streaks but the thing is, THIS CONSISTENTLY HAPPENS EVERY OTHER GAME. It becomes this rolled, get rolled 50% winrate must be maintained frustration fest that makes climbing extremely hard!
the Match Maker is clearly giving you a âTypeâ of player to hard carry. Its usually 2, they 1 trick, refuse to communicate, are consistently badly positioned, and have terrible game sense. Basically noobs that do silly stuff that cost the game and dont even realize it (overextending, feeding, staggering, not calling flankers) Then the next game POOF there gone and its a easy win.
I KNOW this sounds conspiratorial but it just happens in such a clear cut pattern with such insane consistency that I cant help but draw this conclusion. The only thing i can think of is that my MMR is seriously lopsided to my SR that it expects me to carry these types of players, and Ive fallin into some type of MMR feedback loop or something.
no, it doesnt work like that. your sr chases your mmr, so you cant get this type of âfeedback loopâ that keeps you in one place.
the simple explanation is that your mmr increases, so the matchmaker puts you in games with better teammates and enemies, but you cant carry your own weight in higher matches. I really hate to say this, since it has become a meme at this point, but Git gud. its the only thing you can do to get higher. I went from 1500 to 2500 by admitting to myself that the game wasnt rigged and I started to look at what I did wrong.
Having bad teammates is a thing. And itâs common, everywhere. You talk as if the Matchmaker specifically tailor matches to keep YOU at a certain SR. What about the others? You getting loses because the MMR âdecidesâ itâs time for you to lose doesnât make any sense to the rest of the other 11 players that you have no idea wether theyâre on a losing streak or not. Its IMPOSSIBLE to make a Matchmaker algorithm to keep everyone at where theyâre at when some people will eventually climb or fall if they donât belong at their respective skill levels.
I wasnt talking about performance, my question in more like about quality of the match. I will try to explain. Few days ago i was on alt in high gold.team picked 4 other dps while i picked dps first. I had very hard game even when my mcree is high plat.i basicly had to hard carry 3 other dps. Gladly we had duo genji+mercy who helped a lot too. Game was carried by 3 players while others didnt do anything honestly. We won but did i enjoy that game? Not at all, i was forced to give 120% into it and had to do crazy risky flanks in order to compensate for dead weight players. Next game i had classic zarya rein teams on both sides and even when we lost i enjoyed match much more if you know what i am trying to say. For me retarded people who dont create proper comp are making game much less fun snd enjoyable.
the account you are posting from is down in the Silver to edge of Gold SR range that is 1700-2000. So around 70% of the player base is higher ranked then that over all.
Itâs fine to be that SR, but the players will have next to no consistence in their game play and that results in the wild swings.
Iâm a Mercy main and I agree it most definately feels that way. You get a team with 2 people in voice chat and are chating about metaâs and whether the team needs them to fill a position, you win convincingly. But as soon as you even look like you are getting a small winstreak it teams you up with people that claim they are a pro genji simply because they have a gold weapon at which point the rest of the team clammer around that person excitedly. The doors open and the team keeps running into the same bastion in the same place, you loose.
How do you know? Nobody knows how the MMR works. Until we know how the MMR works and it is transparent, any time any one ever tries to explain or theorizes on how the MMR works is just straight up speculating.
we know that sr chases mmr because the devs have told us that it does. mmr is not completely hidden, but people only pretend that it is to keep the false narrative that the mmr is handicapping them
While I do think if you focus on yourself and stop tilting over variables you canât control youâll likely be better off for it, less salty, less tilted, and in a position to improve your own personal performance and start climbing again, Iâm afraid your post misses the point. Itâs possible to have an improper composition filled with people who donât communicate and still win the game, yes, but it then makes the winning condition to hope the enemy team is just as disorganized and incompetent are yours or worse, and itâs not fun to win or lose that way. People play the competitive mode I would guess in most cases to idk, be competitive and see the game function how it was meant too. I donât know, maybe to see it have a small similarity to OWL even. Too much to ask I guess but hopefully you get the idea now.
It does kinda work like that. You are matched based on MMR, not SR. If your MMR is in fact much higher than SR, itâs impossible that your teammatesâ MMR is also higher. It must be balanced across both teams. If youâre the player with the highest MMR, you will also have the teammates with the lowest MMR.
