currently the game offers a not very effective cognitive progression (new players still have the progressive unlocking of heroes as they play), and perhaps mastery mode could be a structureable environment from that point of view.
we have often complained about the game’s tutorial that is limited only to soldier 76, while for other heroes there is the problem of being not very intuitive or even not explained. instead of wasting the mastery mode “only” for score races, they could introduce more personalized environments for knowing the heroes, after having illustrated their abilities. a mix should be created between the soldier 76 tutorial (which is also something seen in Marvel Rivals for some heroes of its roster) and the ideas of the workshop that the community has implemented over the years, and which have actually then strengthened the practice range of the game.
to make some trivial examples, when lifeweaver was released, the Lw & BoB mode was an extremely intelligent way to implement a gameplay / tutorial of the hero that at that time had to be understood in his highly manipulative supporting in the position of the teammates. or the multiple community workshop modes on lucio’s wallride, which effectively challenge the player with checkpoints much more intuitive than the emblems proposed in the mastery modes (literally solvable by watching the tutorial on toutube of whoever guessed the right combination of movements to get 5 stars).
feedback: let’s help the mastery modes to also have a useful space for those who want to perform better on the ability of a specific hero, otherwise they will be a useless and exhaustible space in an even worse way than the empty pve.
