Masters player: I quit playing and took 9 other ppl with me. How to fix

Edit: ops don’t be soft. I’ve watched as this game ruined itself and plumit the stock value. You listened to the soft minority. Please fix this. Every meta hero pros play should be skilled af. Or count the pro scene dead at the end of the year.

I quit playing this game and all my friends irl eventually quit with me. 9 of us total. I was the only master…Here’s why I quit.

Overall why did I quit?
Simple. The game started require less and less skill. I played skilled support mainly(ana/zen) and flex dps… creating so mainly brainless healers that also offered more value than dps imo ended the game. It chased all the skilled players away.

Why?

  • rock paper scissors means players have to play brainless heros. In the mercy meta ppl legit would fight over who was being forced to play her. Even mercy in a balanced state is bad bc your team might need her more than a skilled hero. Example the enemy is diving with tracer genji we can’t play zen ana at the same time.

  • now with goats you need a brig constantly, spam abilities which isn’t fun, and zero dps are playable. Here dps players are unable to play their class.

Conclusion:
Low skill heros need to be unplayable at higher levels or reworked to save the game. I don’t think it will happen so ded game. It also would be dumb to create new heros and have them be unplayable…

To all those that argue this isn’t an fps! And tracking shouldnt be the only thing that matters!..Look where that logic too the game hahaha

I’ve already done it yesterday after playing almost everyday for last 9 months. If you’re giving your masters account away let me know lul.

Ya I have two I think I have one I haven’t even placed on yetand should just be masters after placements. How much lol?

But… There is a part of me that thinks this game could be fixed. I just now have zero faith that it will be fixed and the sad truth is…

The devs want bot heros viable in pro play. Every time they make a bot hero to be viable in pro play it absolutely breaks the game and more of the community leaves

I’ve got a gm account lol. Can’t play this game. These days I go to quickplay to play mercy and just chill. Maybe I’ll let it to decay 300. Already down 25SR :smiley:

Just let it go it’s not a big deal you just havnt tried playing another fps game yet. When you do you will realize how hard skilled play is being suppressed in this game

Basically why I quit Zen and Ana. Moira is just 10 times easier and just as rewarding. Same with Brigitte. The forums like to cry for easy heroes, but they don’t realise it’s destroying the game. If you suck, get better, don’t ask for an easier hero.

All blizzard games are just Centrelink style now.

They did it in WOW, Diablo, etc.

There needs to be a safe space game mode for those that require it to be easy, just like their real lives are.

But I could be wrong, with the game being “a game of the year” etc.

You did see that quad dps gets meta or :wink:

The people just didn’t relaize how to play against goats. But Quad DPS Was succsessfull not only once.

The reason you didnt get to GM is because you think the game is only about tracking and aim

Theres a ton of different factors you need to know. You need tons more game sense on a lot of the “noN SkIlL HeRoeS” than on aim based heroes, and since a hero like mercy is “NoN skIllEd HeRO” she doesnt exactly have that many ways of protecting herself so she will die fast if she doesnt know how to position herself.

Also, just because youre not playing the game doesnt mean that the game is ruined now. It just means 1 masters player got too triggered at the new meta that they couldnt stand learning everything new.

If you actually played them, theyre only considered low skill because theyre easy to pick up. Someone like winston who is relatively “lOW SkIlLed” is one of the harder heroes to perfectly master. Same with heroes like Symm, Torb, Brig and Mercy.

In conclusion:Youre just lazy and cant bother to wait for another meta to shoot up. Most of the other metas have been just as non skilled.
Triple tank 1 dps 2 healers: Mercy/ana, zen/lucio most likely reaper, genji, or tracer. Rein, Hog, and Dva/Zarya. Not a very skilled comp to just deathball the point every round and just sit there doing nothing

People dont like goats for the same reason they didnt like Dive, its just the people who liked dive that are complaining now, and not the other way round. Because goats counters dive.

Spam abilities? not really, brig is mostly used for the little increase in healing+dps with the ability to stun. You dont really need the rest of her kit.
Also, dps heavy comps can counter goats, you just need to pick the right picks.

Not really, most of the community loved her, theres a reason why shes still even when in a bad state has such a high pick rate. Mercy mains, or former mercy mains are in almost every game.

Zen is countered by tracer and genji more than mercy fyi…
Big hitbox, easy to hit, and no escape abilities. Mercy can fly into the rein and the rein can shield and hit the genji and tracer. zen most of the times die to them, if theyre of equal skill.

Hey bud I’ll like to know why I’ve quit the game yesterday (just chilling here). I’m currently GM while can play heroes ranging from widowmaker to main tanks (i loved the roles before i got the game). I’ve maybe 75% of my OW playtime as tanks. And no. I didn’t get there by playing dps only. I solo que’d 98+% of the times and filled if we needed to.

If you think other supports are skill-less then I guess you can easily get top 500 on brig, mercy etc. The truth is you can’t, they kill you easily because your positioning and movement and aim are all bad. You get so good at aiming when you play the game a lot that hitting a shot on ana (being hitscan and with a scope is actually really easy to hit any target btw) is no big deal. How can you call other heroes skill-less when you haven’t mastered them when the reality is you don’t enjoy losing to them. If you die because you get piled on as ana then you haven’t kept your team alive and near you. If you die to getting dived on as ana, that’s the fault of your positioning… Go play csgo if you think aiming is the only skillful thing. lol

Yes csgo does exist when I realized ow was no longer an fps and how fun games like csgo are I immediately stopped playing… 75% of the ow community like me also went to go play games like csgo instead…hahaha so your right

You seem to be just a triggered old masters player who couldnt sustain their rank anymore because they couldnt shift their playstyle to the meta, so go ahead, go to the game with no meta

No actually that’s where you are very wrong I could easily climb higher in rank by playing brig and mercy… Lol they require less skill, less positional awareness and are way more forgiving. People would really like to believe bot heros have some element that must be harder to perform than the alternative hero but… They don’t. Name one thing that’s harder to do as a bot hero over a high skill hero? There’s not… That’s why they are bot heros and shouldn’t be meta…

Edit: I used to think playing this game but after playing truely competitive fps shooter again where you are either better and win or worse and get rolled… It bc blatantly obvious to me ow’s issues…
