I will log off and play a game of Rivals instead.
I would rather just play another game, than to be anti’d at 100% and die through a full resource of mitigation, because none of my supports chose to play Kiriko. (I’m not blaming them.) It’s not fun not being able to play an entire role simply because my supports want to play a hero that Blizzard hasn’t given their seal of approval for.
I noticed about this the other day. Tanking is boring in rivals but atleast there is nothing that feels oppressive. Atleast not yet.
I think it’s because tank in MR are true tanks. They have very limited range and are not all that threatening but with support are basically big bullet sponges. Tanks in Overwatch have always been bullet sponges to some extent as well but also were quasi dps.
For every Overwatch character I see, I am going to go and play Mahvel instead.
I don’t agree, myself. I know this is a recently popular opinion… I think it’s because tanks in OW are just so overtuned that they aren’t even tanks anymore, just giga-DPS. And tank players have gotten used to that and so going back to actually properly designed tanks, they feel a bit neutered.
It works the other way to which is why it’s so hilarious.
When Ana uses the nade on her own teammate it’s a pseudo immortality so it’s crazy AF OP in both directions!

Genuinely why I have pretty much stopped playing overwatch. Tired of Ana.
Yeah was playing Magneto & Strange at first but left them for good found those along with the tree to be so fkn boring. However started duoing tank with Hulk/Cap or Hulk/Thor. It’s been hella fun. Quick, high aggro in/out dive synergy.

“She prevents healing” I don’t have a counter to this, I just…manage to outlive by dipping out somehow (sometimes)
“Her sleep is oppressive” it’s idk 3 seconds? I’ve never been bothered by it. But I also have a support watching my back so I don’t often suffer the whole sleep nade death combo…
The Hulk actually feels incredible to play.
Winton is just a punching bag like he was in the animated shorts.
Even if I get hit, I’ll just set up my Rein shield till it wears out, or I’ll go buff with Ram and block, or put up Sigma’s shield, or I’ll Zarya bubble. The only tank I say gets absolutely shut down by Ana is Mauga, but that’s because his design is just uttertly terrible (both in gameplay and looks), I find even Hog gets more value.

I was gonna say the same thing. I mean maybe it’s because I play tanks that don’t do terribly into her but Dva, Zarya, Sig, all do fine. Queen it’s a bit of a pain, but if I play around it with shout, it’s not a huge deal. Even the hamster can just roll away, part of the gameplay loop anyway.
But, man, I hate a well-timed sleep (which also exists in Rivals)
Fr Im loving Thor especially. Cap is super fun too. Have yet to try much Hulk but will get to him soon.
im not a huge fan of any of the tanks but i did have quite a bit of fun with strange, peni, and rarely magneto
im a support main in rivals, partly cuz theres another small, annoying, and sarcastic rodent with fun movement for me to play, but the tanks are pretty well rounded and good at tanking or at least denying space; taking space is more of a duelist thing in rivals
I can’t wrap my head around Hulk. He’s like a reverse D.va. and I can’t just click with running around as Banner. His gun feels really awkward to use. Do I just hide in the back peppering? Do I go for point blank with a pocket healer?
