As you can probably imagine, it was a complete stomp for their team
Actually wild stuff here.
And before people say that it doesn’t matter, yet it does; if you were in the top 10% of players at any point in Overwatch 2, on any role, you have the game sense, the positioning, and probably the AIM to pull off DPS at a diamond level.
I find that more often than not, it does create a lopsided match.
But more often than you’d think, they’re actually doing terribly and play no better than anyone else in the lobby, often worse actually. Whether this is deliberate by them to stay in the low ranks is another discussion.
But yeah anyone who says that seeing a title for a rank that’s like 4 ranks above the current match “never means anything” are living in delulu land.
“Master Role Challengers” are often Diamond or even Plat players. Moreover, the Masters title might have come from a different role than that player was playing in your lobby.
So, you’re telling me the top 50 Mercy players that are gold and silver in the other two roles (diamond in open q) deserve to be T500 in the other roles?
Yeah, no thank you.
Mercy players hold high elo games hostage enough lmao
Even if this is true, there are 3 TIERS in between Master and Gold.
That’s enough of a difference to break matchmaking in lower ELO, otherwise smurfs wouldn’t be so entertaining for high rank players.
Unlike a lot of other people who used to play the game, I DON’T think I’m masters, or even diamond, and obviously not plat either. I don’t WANT to be forced to play against a master player, on ANY role, when my teammates either reflect the same skill level as me, or slightly lower.
Not necessarily. There are a lot of variables that are in play, when it comes to performance levels in Overwatch. A low to mid-Diamond Mercy/Lifeweaver player may have a streak of good game sessions and dip into low Masters on that role and earn the title, while being a Gold ranked DPS player.
