Massive lag spikes and rubber banding only in Overwatch

I’ve been unable to play for a few days after I started suddenly having issues with intense lag, used to see ping no higher than 40ms and now it will jump to 800ms every few seconds while playing.

Thank you for taking the time to report this with that WinMTR test data. The test here shows significant spikes in latency beginning from the second ‘hop’ and persisting through all subsequent hops:

The first hop in the test is the connection from your computer to the router or modem (depending on what device you’re connecting to), and second hop would be the network device immediately following – a router or your modem associated with your home network, or your ISP’s first node located nearby or directly outside of your home. Since the connection is spiking to 2940ms at this hop, this is almost certain to be what is causing the noticeable issues in-game.

With that in mind, if a wired Ethernet connection and/or the troubleshooting steps here have no impact, I recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for assistance determining what is causing the issues on that second hop. I always recommend requesting to be forwarded to a “level 2 or level 3 technician” when contacting the ISP since the front-line representatives typically only have access to basic diagnostics and troubleshooting tools.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply, I already have an appointment for a tech from my isp to come out and check our hardware but thank you for clearing up where the issue is specifically, I really appreciate it!
