Massive Disk spikes

I dont think this is a Blizzard problem, but I am getting huge spikes in my disk since the last update starting with Windows Pay, then Cortana then Microsoft Content, finally Sysmain. All in a row, not separately.

Is this happening to anyone else? I have never had this issue before. Then suddenly since last patch I will be in the middle of a game and it will start lagging to a point where it is just going at like 2 fps. I pull my task manager to see these apps destroying my disk for no apparent reason for about 40 seconds and then it will just stop.

I have disabled both Windows Pay and Cortana, because they are stupid anyway. Is this a Windows problem? I think there was an update around the same time as the last patch.

A lot of people have issues with Sysmain / superfetch causing high disk usage for some reason so you could try disabling that.

there are lots of guides on the internet how to disable it, for example this first result from google search:

Q: Is it safe to disable it?
A: Yes it is completely safe to disable this service. You can enable it again at anytime. Actually it is service to optimize the system performance and not a required service.

i had the same issue. like said above i did everything possible about saving disk space on google. it’s a common issue with windows 10. a big culprit is a hibernation file which is about 6 gig alone. There is plenty you can do so get googling
