Mass Rez is an ult that can be preventable or counter-played. Bring back Mass Rez

At least on these points I believe we are actually in agreement.

ok ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Its more interesting this way.

Side note current cast time is 1.75 seconds so 4 seconds would be over double the time just saying, but IDK.

She was invulnerable for only a few weeks. Moreover, how is dropping a bomb, slamming a hammer , or dropping a beat engaging? Timing. Having control on the effect and outcome of an ult makes it enaging. Solo ulting isn’t always worth it, but it can be for a fight. Same with rez. But it should be a choice, not restriction for the ability

i actually dont mind meercy dieing for ress sake its often worth it thats why it was done.

just thought of another idea. i dont like this one its kind boring but it allows enemy team to react just a bit better: 6 second cast time, mercy invulnerability. or 4 whatever. just so yes mercy survives, but now enemy can try and set up to respond to the fact that they are fighting the same fight more or less, with the possibility of facing an unused ultimate of their previously defeated enemy. i dont know. it is just frustrating that they just did not try. personally i wish they would remove it already. problem us, jeff says he is not a fan of reverts( yes reworks too) and he also thinks res is a core part of her identity.

symm lock on beam was too, but now its gone and she is a way more effective character.

im giving it thought and leaning on 3 seconds being more correct than 4 seconds

im out of here. see ya

Cya as well, and stay thirsty my friend

A logical plea fell on deaf ears

We will bring it back.
But you need to chose 5 of these:

You can only rez when more than 3 players are dead.
Only rez supports and dps.
Only rez a total of 200 health. (divided by number of targets)
It must have line of sight.
It must have a cast time of a second per target (they will all rez after the time for the last target is finished)
They must rez without invincibility.
They must lose all ult charge.
The rez costs 5 times current valk.
It can only have a range of 2 meters.

That seems so, particularly considering with how Blizzard has handled Diablo and many other matters including with Overwatch.

Choice C) Run Mercy for mass rez on your team too.

And everyone picked option C.

A- Just kill the Mercy lol

B- Win 2 teamfights, use twice the effort and possibly double the ults

Mass resurrect was busted beyond belief. It is never coming back, accept it.

Can I join you in watching the drama unfold? I’ll even bring double the popcorn!

And no, Mass Rez won’t come back. It’s too unhealthy for the game, and even Geoff, the head of balance, mentioned this.

My current desire is for Rez to go back to ultimate with a 0.5s cast time and limited to two heroes rezzed. There, tempo rez, not mass rez, and a small window in which it can be interrupted.

Do you realize how crippling and punishing it would be to cast an ultimate over 3s, especially Resurrection? You’re a MASSIVE bullseye begging to get headshot or interrupted. Right now it’s 1.75s, and with awareness and especially coordination, you can easily interrupt it and make Mercy miserable.

All Mass Resurrection needed was a LoS check; it was so incredibly cheesy for Mercy to use her ultimate while beneath the last checkpoint for Gibraltar, or just simply hiding and ressing.

Yes, it was always important to position yourself in a good hiding spot before your instant satisfaction moment to shine.

People loved the engagement that hide and seek had to offer. So much mind games. So much tactic. So much choice.

With lesser burst healing and only one main healer, Mass Rez produced both shorter team skirmishes and longer teamfights and more opportunities to exercise superior game sense and skill.

On top of denying an enemy ult like Reaper, it also allowed both teams to deny each others’ ults. Mass Rez into Earthshatter, only to be denied by Grav or Healing, only to be met with a Grav or Nanoboost, only to be met with a CC and followed up with a DPS ult…

And then round 2 when the second team pops their Mass Rez.

Because this would happen at every major teamfight, and ults were fired off every 80-ish seconds, this meant a 1.2-1.5x increase in number of waves.

Say what you will about opinions, but the above is what everyone remembers and enjoyed about Overwatch. Crazy team fights where you’re on the edge of your seat, not being able to see everything half of the time.

Hard to follow, but fun to play.

Hide and Seek was only ever a problem at Overtime, specifically on Gibraltar, Temple of Anubis, and Volskaya.

Hide and Seek was counterable with tab menu shotcalling, tracking respawn waves, and wallhack abilities.

Reducing both teams’ ult economy made the game legible, not better. The game was faster and better with fast charging ults that could be YOLO’d at any time to create an opportunity… but that game isn’t legible in the eSports spectator sense.

Reducing ults to a simple “if your team has more ults, has at least one CC ability, and isn’t staggered = win” economy is what made matches these days feel like a lost cause only a few minutes in. The game has only increased the number of lost ults since Mercy’s rework.

Pushes and staggers feel crippling because whoever ults first has to succeed or they lose the push because the enemy team will then have ult advantage.

If you could have an ult that prevented death instead of reversing it, would you be happy with it?

that’s literally nanoboost currently

yeah basically, so what if it was an AoE nanoboost without the increased dmg and dmg reduction? also instant healing instead of rapidly increasing and also just 200 HP to all affected allies

You’re describing Sound Barrier, but without the Overheal.

yes! also Transcendence but instead of hp/s is one instance of instant healing

would you (and everyone who read this thread and agrees with the OP) take this ult for mercy or not?
