Mass reports and swearing suspensions

I’m sick of people being able to constantly report you I was banned from overwatch over being mass reported for calling out a team for being robots because they literally just run in ult feed we can’t even leave spawn so when I swore at them I got reported for a half hour straight but other people don’t get banned for saying the N word

and you’ve also been rightly reported when you insult and swear at your team.

Constructive criticism, which is a foreign word to many. What’s the point of insulting your team and calling it a robot? absolutely nothing!
How would you react if you were called a robot, trash, braindead etc.?

And why are you so sure that people who use the n-word don’t get reported?

You didn’t get a suspension for that single event. It was a pattern of misconduct that resulted in your suspension.

I’ve seen people use the N word in chat then they call me the problem for losing because I’m a silver dps and they yell at me to shut up we’re gonna spam report you after this game because you’re throwing garbage that’s better off banned from the community

If people can’t take some harsh criticism, maybe they should stick to something mellow like minecraft.

If you get so angry at teammates you think made a mistake that you can’t control your anger, you should play something mellow like minecraft.

Talking about being banned is a bannable offense

Even this can be mass reported, and result in bans.

easy solution. Play with people you trust or are friends with. And if you are soloing. Just have your mic muted but be in team chat

really…

where is the “sportsmanship” in allowing smurfs and cheaters to run rampant across all modes ?

or is it like this

“Want to dunk on your opposition with no contest?.. no problem buy a new account or a cheat”

“ohh no… bad words hurt fee fees… BAN!”

A-ha, sure. Then you do give them “constructive criticism” by saying something like “Rein, you’re just giving Symm charge, go Zarya” or “we need splash damage, not snipes”, you get mass reported all the same.

You mean like what happens every other game? I get called female dog or another word for a cat all the time. And of all things, you take issue with “robot”? Really? That’s the word that triggers you?

And why do they keep doing it?

The problem is not that someone might not be reported (everyone gets reported for anything in this game cause the system allows it), but something like “no” is treated the same way as the N-word. It’s because this game doesn’t allow negativity and even constructive criticism is negativity.

Said part is, that is what’s tolerated in this game.

Clearly not, cause OW doesn’t allow any negative words in its game.

Oh yeah, and it’s crazy this can happen. Say “Moira, we got DPS, we need you to heal with your orbs” and that’s instantly reported (after Moira tells you to “shut the front door”, of course) and then that’s considered as “abusive” chat.

Oh yeah, super easy to get five people to play together at a specific time…

Hahahaha, good one there. I never once used voice chat and “being in the chat” doesn’t help you with anything. Genji says “push already for heaven’s sake” and you tell him to “not go alone and wait for team” he starts getting mad and reporting you.

Overwatch approach right there. And not even words like they’d use on South Park, but words like: “stop diving 1v6” or “switch”.

I trust no one and have no friends. That solution is far from easy, Bastion, my boy.

That sounds like Overwatch attittude all right. No negativity allowed. We should rename this game to “George Orwell’s Overwatch”.

I hate getting reported for Nano - the “N” word

I’ll say one side effect of people culturally appropriating that term is that now people going forward just won’t take it as seriously. You really cannot have I-can-use-it-you-can’t mentality, throw it around in films and music and expect others to follow it over time.

OTOH, the report system is a joke, and little kids on here can’t even be asked to swap to something more effective without labeling you “toxic” and running to a Discord to get you mass reported. Pathetic little creatures but they are a product of a failed system.

…and the other 10-50 games you were toxic. You usually aren’t banned for a single game…

No, but if the right players go to their Discords you can be. I’ve seen it happen live on streams before.

Save your what if arguments…they’re lame and not conducive to online discussions as I can just ‘what if’ the opposite stance and neither of us can prove the other wrong…
