Mapvoting - longer loading

I was always loading into game a bit longer, than my friends, but after they added mapvoting, it added another layer of waiting for me, resoulting in other players always picking heroes, before I even get a chance.
Is this a “new feature” from now on, or it´s some kind of bug?
Is there anything besides upgrading my graphic, that can be done?

the faster the ssd the better. thats about it.

What is ssd? :flushed:

Solid State Drive. Different kind of storage device than a hard drive. I don’t know the specifics but it helps load and run some programs, especially video games, faster or smoother. Depending on your setup and equipment it could make a big difference or not much of one at all. But it’s a good start for that issue

Thank you! but for now, do you think turning graphic quality down in options would help? My game runs smoothly most of the time (there are this weird FPS drops after every update and when I join into already started game). I know lowering this settings help for game it self, but does it affect also loading?

It MIGHT help with some loading into games. I don’t know all of the details but I think that it mainly helps with connecting and loading to online servers

If your game is on a hard drive, you will be loading noticeably slower than someone on a ssd. Ssd at this point is pretty affordable compared to many years ago. Tho I also haven’t noticed any increase in load time after map voting.

loading depends upon your hard drive first, then the cpu, then the speed and capacity of your ram, followed by your gpu and its ability to render the game.

im running a samsung ssd with 1tb of space and thats not a slow drive.

i have 64GB of ram. the size of the ram is waaaaay overboard for what a person needs today.

i mean 64gb of ram is because i stream, record, have a discord open and use steam.

otherwise 16gb suffices for nothing else open.

i also have an rtx 2060 gpu for gaming. by todays standards that is now the minimum for most modern games.

essentially you have to look at what your cpu and gpu mfg date was, if i was u. if its over 5 years, its time for upgrades or a new build.

feelzbad.

yeah im goin to say in 10 years its time to go the new route.

i mean as long as we dont have someone here trying to make AGP and ddr2 work on windows 2000 we are good lol jk.

directx modding for windows xp is even intense… despite xp was the last real operating system to exist.

:stuck_out_tongue:
