Instead of 3 completely random maps of different types, have players presented with 3 random maps that are all the same type.
This way all modes will be played. Players will have the ability to choose how that mode is played from the available options.
I make this suggestion because it seems some game modes and maps are rarely if ever selected, skewing the meta in favor of heroes who happen to excel on popular maps.

i thought about this a while ago. seems reasonable but i think there is one mode where its not possible… clash has only two maps. so maybe only two options heh

My least favorite map pools are the ones that are all the same mode. Have you ever noticed that each game mode has maps that feel relatively similar? There is more variety when you can chose from multiple.

SO THEN CHANGE IT TO BE HOW IT WORKS IN TF2
What part of nobody wants to play on Push, Control, Flashpoint do you not understand?

No way. Those modes aren’t being chosen because people hate them, in some cases they are far less intuitive than others (clash especially), and payload maps were designed to be large changing maps procedurally changing to benefit different hero’s at different times whereas some game modes (push, flashpoint severely) benefit certain heroes to an extreme due to the design of the map and playable area not changing nearly as much, only the objective location in that one set area.
Blizzard mentioned several heroes perform massively better in flashpoint (especially mobility) and also mentioned that clash as a whole was horribly imbalanced and often the game was won almost entirely based on ult economy strategies especially on higher ranks because the mode was not intuitive among other things.
These newer modes have issues that blizzard themselves are aware of and on occasion pointed out (less so push, admittedly) and there are a lot of reasons people don’t want to play them, and they absolutely shouldn’t be forced to if they don’t want to. A mode can influence your hero viability far more than a specific map of a mode. But some modes are generally very evenly rewarding for most hero’s. Only certain parts of certain payload maps are typically hated, but entire flash point and push maps are hated, and the entire clash mode was nearly universally hated.

better? yes
random would still be better though
If you haven’t understooden that the point of the map voting is to decide which mod to play and not which map,we can’t help you.
Worst idea of the year…

Hell no. I’m thankful to map voting because I will never have to play Flashpoint ever again.

What part of people actually like those maps do you not understand? Crazy you didnt even mention clash. I personally hate escort and hybrid maps and I always have. Played this game for KotH since OW1, now there are more KotH type maps, im going to keep picking those.
Your opinion isnt everyones opinion, and if you think it is, you’re probably still a kid.
You have miss-“understooden,” that isnt the point of map voting at all, as i have got three choices of the same mode before. These assumptions people make about blizzards intentions like they work there are wild.

Yeah that’s kinda the point and would defeat the purpose of the system we have currently. Did you think map voting got introduced so people could play maps and modes they disliked?
If you want more modes to be played, tell blizzard to design good modes. The 3 modes they’ve released in OW2 have all been worse than 2CP.
Also you’re overestimating the impact that map voting has on the meta. The same heroes that were meta before are the same heroes that are meta after. The meta hasn’t changed in god knows how long, that’s a balancing issue though.

that… literally defeats the whole point of map voting. I don’t want to be able to cope and choose esperanca over new queen’s street, I don’t want to play Push AT ALL
Nobody? Everyone avoids voting for them.
Also great childish logic you have there.
“There’s more trash in that bin so I’ll keep voting for that garbage can!”.
You just love wasting others times voting for those. Go to comp if you want rounds.

In my experience, Illios and Lijiang Tower get more votes than all the maps that show up against them except maybe kings row, even then seen illios beat it plenty of times… What incredible childish logic you have.
These big “nobody”, and “everyone” statements make you look dumb and ignorant.
Also I am playing comp and qp, whats with all these weird assumptions. At least in comp KotH is shorter than those 20-40min long escort maps… What are you on? can I get some? The confidence in those wide, absolutely wrong statements are admirable.
Your experience means nothing especially when it’s made up or highly unbelievable. First you claim my opinion isn’t everyone’s opinion then you do the exact same thing with yours. That’s why you’re a hypocrite and a kid.
Look I get it. You’re angry that the only time you’ll ever get to play those awful maps are when some worthless troll gives 1 single vote on them. No need to cry about that to me. Some of us have challenges they would like to quickly complete so keep your 2 round losses for 1 challenge point nonsense with you. Map voting has saved everyone so much time now that they aren’t forced to play on them like they used to. Deal with it child.

I also see map voting as a diminishing returns effect.
It’s nice to have your favorite food, but what happens when you have it too often?
You might have a favorite holiday, but imagine if it was celebrated everyday.
Think about what you consider to be the best day of your life. Now imagine you’re stuck in a constant time loop like Groundhog Day.
Somethings are more fun when they’re a bit mote rare.
I wonder what the long term effects of this will be. What happens when people get burned out on King’s Row?
Will they start voting on other maps? Or will they just leave the game?
It’s possible to have too much of a good thing. We know this with algorithms that give you dopamine hits. Slot machines that have carefully planned payout ratios.
And the McRib. Never forget the McRib.
I think adding in more maps would help too. They don’t all have to be perfect either, hey just need to add in more variety to the game modes they already have
We don’t need them to add more awful modes or maps. What we need is the TF2 map system. That way you can select what modes you want and what maps you want from them.
That way our crybaby kiddo can play his awful control maps (which I doubt anyone would queue for if given the choice) and I’ll never have to see them ever again. It’s a win / win for everyone.
Isnt the whole point of map voting to play the modes/maps you like most?
Its not a bad thing that some maps arent played.
The minority of people like those modes though. Hybrid and Escort are pretty much the favored modes of play in QP, however I can see them being less favored in Competive due to the roll flip.
Control I see coming up second most favored, while Push, Clash and at dead last Flash point being the less favored. Flash point usually scoring 1 vote tops in all the time I’ve played, and usually by a troll the votes for it last second.
However, Blizzard needs to release the data on which maps get the most voted and which doesn’t. Be interesting to know.

Yea and having more than maybe 3 maps per mode, and ones that not everyone hates like a lot of the current ones, would help that
