how it will be implemented?
At the end of the match the players vote for the next map, and I play again with the losing team against the winning team?

It wonât be.
The game dumps all the players into a map in the moment it finds game.
They will have to redesign how the game works to even add voting.
I think it should fill a lobby with 10 players, and let everyone in the lobby vote between several maps. I think thatâs how Splitgate does it.
Ideally have it pick like 3 maps when you load in and let the players vote between those.
Most games that have something like typically have a pre-game/post-game lobby, and it will select a few different maps at random and allow the players to vote between a few. Usually itâs limited to a few choices.
Some of these features could live just outside of a match, such as a map voting system.
I am guessing you are referring to this but by the way how it is worded seems more like an example than something already in the making.
Theyâll never do this because then nobody will ever play their terrible Push or Flashpoint modes.
Map vote strikes me as a terrible idea purely on technical grounds. Overwatch doesnât retain public lobbies post-match so you canât vote at the end, but you equally canât vote at the start because map and mode are selected during matchmaking. If you matchmake people and have them vote, all youâre doing is creating leavers, if they join a game and get voted onto a map they donât like.
The only way something like this could work is by letting players âvoteâ on a map before they even queue up and then matchmake palyers with the same map preference, but uh⊠yeah, good luck with those queue time.
Not sure where you are. But back on ow1, when I played on US server, people wouldnât leave that much at the end of the QP game so a votemap could be implemented.
In Europe, it seems there are far more leaving people (probably because of language frontier) so votemap would be useless there.
Since OW2, even if I put my game on US server, Iâll keep being matched in Europe so I canât tell if its still true.
I hope this means that 2CP maps will return.
Now there will no longer be the excuse that some people donât like it. If in a match no one wants to play 2CP it will simply not be played, while if someone wants to play Hanamura they will vote for it and have the chance to play the best map in the game.
Made this concept where you can select the maps you want to avoid.
It is inspired by the TF2 system.
The queue time would depend on how many maps you had activated. If you donât deactivate any map you wouldnât have to wait any longer, while if you want a better experience in the game regardless of how long you have to wait it wouldnât be such a big problem.
Itâs not so much an issue with your individual queue time if you have too many maps blocked. Rather, itâs additional complexity in the matchmaker, having to find people with similar preferences and potentially disregard those in favour of finding games. Right now, your only real choice is Tank/Damage/Support/All, with each individual role having a dramatically longer queue time than All. A list of blocked maps creates so many different permutations that itâs virtually guaranteed to increase queue times across the board.
Iâm willing to wait as long as it takes to not play Flashpoint and Robot.
It should be like Mario Kart where everyone casts a vote for a map and then the game randomly picks one from all the votes.
Are there enough Maps to implement this feature?
Personally, I wouldnât want it. I once played Hanamura (OW1) four times in a row and got tired of it real quick.
I also remember how popular NukeTown was in CoD and hated how often it was voted for and all the times it was remade and put into rotation.
I donât want to play Kingâs Row or whatever the most liked map is, multiple times in a row.
I think there should be two map selection systems. The first with all the maps available for Unranked and the system with fewer maps to choose that you mentioned for competitive.
heyyyyy guess whattttt
its escort only time now.
worst state overwatch has ever been in.
just disgusting.
wish i could exchange my hero bann votes for map bann votes.
ALWAYS BANN ESCORT
