It should always choose the map with the most votes. im sick of 9 people voting for a map just for us all to get one guyed by the cretin that wants to play push.
I hate Push more than anything but that’s the voting system working as intended.
And I’m glad that it works that way. Flashpoint still gets a bad rap so if it was a majority vote, it’d never get picked.
No, I don’t want to play the same 3 maps every match. Skill issues already resulted in two modes being removed, and I don’t want the community to be able to effectively remove almost everything else just because they refuse to adapt or play anything but low-effort poke war.
Isn’t that indicative of no one wanting to play a bad mode? like if no one wants to play a certain mode that should signal to blizz that it needs to be changed in some way.
I don’t want to play payload but everyone else likes it. Does that mean I need to suck it up
im high masters. i assure you its not bc of a skill issue. i’m just not trying to play objectively bad maps when i finally get a good one in the vote rotation. Cod mad this system 15 years ago and it was perfect then. most votes = that map being chosen. Blizz is always trying to re invent the wheel to their own detriment.

sure that would make sense with no map vote. All i want is the map with majority vote to be chosen. i could even agree that if both maps are within 1 or 2 votes then the current system is fine. but when 9 people vote for one map and it chooses the one with a single vote is when the issue starts.
I placed mid master after the reset and haven’t ranked back up yet, but I’m normally GM, and it’s absolutely a skill issue. The higher in rank you go, the less frequently payload maps are favored. Flashpoint and control actually get play there, because there’s a meta game to those modes that lower-ranked players don’t understand. The map voting stats the devs released show it consistently.
Anyone can improve and be able to understand modes better, but nobody can get maps back when they’re removed for everyone just because people wouldn’t walk through the choke on Paris.

It doesn’t need fixing, it needs removing.
The problem with the unpopular maps is the section of the playerbase that troll 1vs5 who need to go through a compulsory tutorial that Overwatch, even QP, is a team game and that yes supports are meant to heal.
This is why flashpoints are unpopular - too many options to go off nowhere and get owned by themselves 1vs5 and throw the game. Maps where trolls are forced to be closer to their teams are preferred.
