Map voting is a desperate feature

literally no asked for it. but that’s not even the best part. being unable to leave at the beginning of the match, that 30 seconds before? gone. that’s going to piss off your player base. in QUICKPLAY. what is even the point in bothering with it anymore? one stupid decision after another with them. stay in rivals. the leaver penalties are already ridiculous but at least if i get the same map or attack or defend for the 5th time in a row i can just leave before it starts. can’t now. good job.

and we know somehow the blizzardbuttkissers will defend this. comp do whatever that’s the “serious” mode but quickplay? barely any of the changes they have made in a year have made any sense.

??? You have been on the forums long enough to see plenty of posts of people wanting to pick and avoid certain maps. Might not be the exact system those people wanted, but map voting is in tons of games and people wanted it for a long time here too.

I’d prefer to be able to blacklist a gamemode so that i can’t be put into a match with that.

Sure there are maps in modes i don’t prefer, but if i could guarantee never playing clash ever again, i’d play 5 havanas in a row for that.

I think each map vote is for a separate mode? So that is partially taken into account.

At least that’s what it looked like from the dev stream. First map vote was only for 2 flashpoint maps because they were testing the mode for stream. The rest of the test map voting UI had different maps for different modes. So it looks like dodging modes will play a factor rather than just loading into a specific mode and voting for one of its respective maps.

LOTS of people asked for it

It will also reduce leavers if someone doesn’t like a certain map or mode.

Yes stay in rivals with their little selection of maps which are mostly just horrendously detailed, have poor geometry, and are visually just cluttered and have a bad gameplay experience due to the map destruction/regen💀

I get the feeling not too many people will be voting for clash.

I hope you’re right, but we’ll know more a bit later. (Or, others will k ow more a bit later. I’m off in a forest with only my cellphone as a device that can run any entertainment)

I mean people have asked for it

Though I think it’s one of those things (alongside hero bans) that they shouldn’t have added

Yeah nothing is for certain, this is only based off of what I saw in the stream.

Have fun!!!

Guess we shall see if you are correct or not in the coming weeks. My guess is people will generally like the system, but we will see complaints from players who used to leave certain modes, complaining they can’t leave once the map voting starts and they don’t get what they want.

I will, once the rain lets up XD

I haven’t watched the streams, i’d have to leave my phone somewhere to buffer it before watching. Like ye olde youtube videos :no_mouth:

I don’t think the issue is banning maps. Players want to mostly ban MODES but they say maps meaning the same thing.

For my part, I never NEVER play Flashpoint or Push modes. I leave immediately at setup.

While I like Escort as a mode, I’ll be pretty happy if I can avoid playing the likes of Corridor Royale, Junkertown and Havana ever again. I’d be disappointed if the system was limited to dodging Clash in QP (please remove Clash from QP).

I asked for it

What forums have you been reading? Tons of people asked for this. It was highly requested even.

Seriously? Loads of people have been asking for it and for quite some time now. I’m looking forward to it.

I feel like mode voting would have been better than map voting within the modes. Clash and flashpoint seem to have a lot of immediate leavers in my lobbies

From their screenshots, it looks like I can’t have different maps and modes as options. We shall see in an hour.

That is so not true. A lot of people have been asking for it… Since 2016.

That’s not a map voting issue. That’s an issue with putting map voting in quickplay. It makes no sense and anyone who believes it does but refuses to accept hero bans in quickplay is either willfully ignorant or maliciously disingenuous. Almost every single one of their opinions should be disregarded because they demonstrate a lack of ability to think, Mark.

I mean, I probably will…

I’ve been on the forums for a while now, and I’ve never read a post from anybody asking for map selection. Similarly, I assume the matchmaker is perfect because I’ve never read posts complaining about that either.

(Full disclosure, I’m actually illiterate.)

Except lots of people asked for it. Otherwise they wouldn’t have implemented it. XD
