Map voting has made me realize something

How many of the maps I don’t actually like. It’s more than I realized

I realized long ago that I despise Ilios. Too bad I’m in the minority there :frowning:

If people actually vote for that map, I am banning Hog and Lucio. I do not care. I will let Sombra slip through the cracks. No real human beings actually want Illinois. It’s a trap!

I’m in the minority because I don’t even like control as a mode. Mostly because I don’t really like any of those maps all that much.

Yeah, map select also had a similar effect on me.
I know I don’t hate control. But when you put control maps next to pretty much any of the others, I find myself not liking control as much as I thought.

Thanks to map voting, I still have yet to be put in a Flash Point map, mean less games I need to drop amd re-queue from

at least control is parallel so each team has a equal playing field unlike escort which team 4 actively made worst.

On paper, yes. It’s pretty close to symmetric. Though there are subtle differences with spawn points and all that don’t impact much. That doesn’t mean that I love the design of the maps though. I especially dislike Oasis.

In QuickPlay yes, but in comp it’s symmetric because you both get a turn on each side. I kinda wish it worked that way in QuickPlay too, but it would take longer and be less “quick”.

Pepperidge Farms remembers in OW1 when the QP match rotation was that map again, but the teams switched.
And as someone who didn’t leave as soon as a match was over, it was glorious

im the opposite, i usually dont care WHAT map im on but yea if im widow i want all those LONG SITE line maps

still i understand how people are the way they are… i guess im too carefree most of the time

I think its more of which ones are better

Like, nothing beats King’s Row xD

But then there is also Hollywood, Cricuit Royale, etc

thinking about it and yeah oasis does have a “this was designed for 2 tanks” feeling to it with all the chokepoints.

Map Voting system made me realize that I love trolling coz I always pick a map no one picks and laugh when that map won.

Yea the map design team tends to miss more often than not.

Like people say “oh you guys want escort / hybrid simulator” and it’s like brotha even half of THOSE maps are terrible.

Havana and circuit royale are the two worst maps in overwatch history and their both escort maps. Junkertown is horrible. Shambali is shambolic. Paraiso is horrible. Rialto first point makes me want to uninstall, but once I get past it (if you can because securing the first point is the most horrific thing in the game) it’s alright.

Then you have all the maps for the bad modes so push and flashpoint just fail automatically. You’re not really left with much.

What I realized though is that I actually don’t like control. Every map is really just win first fight and then just hold the tiniest choke on planet earth that the map gives you. The only way you lose that choke is through ult diffs.

I will say most of the hybrids are fine, it’s really the escorts.

if they would have used the counterstrike 1.6 map vote then it would have worked better. also dont look at it as maps you dont like just maps that are not your style. most of the map are fair and that all that they can really hope for

More map modes, specifically the ones added in OW2. And I’m not the only one.

There is not many I actually dislike, other the. Clash cuz the mode is awful. But there are those I enjoy more than others, so map voting has been great for me. Rarely am I not happy with the map, and often I get to play stuff I like more.

It’s map roulette, which irritates me too. Always picking the one map that has 1 vote.

That was specifically early ow1. Years after most people left and it would just close.
