Map opinion list

Im listing only regular maps, 2 cp, escorting payload, etc.
These are mostly biased because I onetrick Doomfist, but w/e.
Overall I like all 3 types of maps, but my favorite is probably Control maps.

Blizzard World: Fun for both defenders and attackers, many routes to flank or attack, 1st point is good for rollouts, rest of the points is ok. 8/10

Busan:
Downtown: 5/10, it has a few flanking routes and its overall decent for every hero.
Sanctuary: 6/10, looks cool, quite a diverse map, though small.
MEKA Base: 7/10 looks cool, the control point sometimes feels like an arena and I like how there’s usually 2 fights, one in the higher grounds and one below.

Dorado: 9/10 I love it because it’s a night map, effects look really good here, the routes and flanks are amazing and quite diverse. The map is different at every single stage, one of my favorites, especially good for rollouts.

Eichenwalde: 8/10 Another good map, it looks quite stunning visually, the story in it, the angles, the diversity. Last point is the only bad part for viability, but it’s overall a cool map.

Hanamura: 6/10, Great map on 1st point, but sometimes it feels so cluttered and small.
The 2nd point can sometimes be a huge mess, it’s quite confusing, not to mention that Hanzo and Echo are insufferable in this map.

Havana: 7/10 Great map when there’s no Widow, 1st and 2nd point are fun and fair for both teams, visually not that great.

Hollywood: 9/10, Another one of my favorites. The map looks great, there’s plenty of routes to choose from, the sassy guy in the limo saying stuff, the bridge and elevators, I’ve had some of my best plays and rollouts right here.

Horizon L. C.: 4/10, the 1st point is semi-decent, 2nd point is just frustrating from every angle. People allow enemies to flank them so many times through the main entrance and side ones.

Illios: A set of the best maps there are, the visuals are STUNNING.
Lighthouse: 10/10, great maze map, many places to hide, SO many places to come from, so many rollouts, such clarity and view. LOVE IT.
Ruins: 7/10 Favors snipers, but the two side entrances allow me to do move pretty well, it has many spots to cover, so it’s pretty even for any type of hero, and it looks good as well.
Well: 10/10, pretty much a more chaotic version of Lighthouse. I award it the most unpredictable map in all of the game, I love it. Overall Illios is always a pleasant experience.

Junkertown: 7/10 a very medium map, has decent routes, some good places to rollout, 3rd point is decent even for flankers, though it favors snipers.

King’s Row: 2/10, the worst map in the game in my opinion. It baffles me how people can like it. The flanking routes and predictable, they’re hard to access and they’re rather limited. It HEAVILY favors hitscan, the colors aren’t interesting and 3rd point doesn’t even feel like London, absolutely hate with when playing any class.

Lijiang T: These are favored to heroes with CC, boops, etc, and they’re quite open.
Id discourage people from using Doom here or other flankers, especially since the flanks are very secluded, but I can make it work and it can be nice.
Night Market: 6/10, 80% of the map is not used, so it’s mostly in the center, and it’s so random that I sometimes can’t enjoy it, just a spam of shields and skills on top of eachother.
Garden: 7/10 more versatile than the others, pretty fun.
Control Center: 8/10, the top window is GREAT for rollouts and picking people by surprise, fighting is more diverse here.
Overall Lijiang is ok/decent.

Nepal: It’s a good looking map, plenty of routes but rather predictable ones, in some of the maps.
Village: 8/10, plenty of flanks to use, many levels, the layout is good and fights can happen anywhere.
Shrine: 10/10 amazing rollout potential, predictable flanking routes but still very good.
Sanctum: 7/10, some parts are super closed, which isn’t very exciting.

Numbani: 7/10 Looks amazing, has coffee references (<3), the map is diverse. Overall it’s decent, not much to say.

Oasis: Looks warm, looks chill, I like it, the architecture is interesting.
Gardens: 8/10, despite being a rather limited map, I always have fun here, I don’t need highgrounds or flanks to make things happen, it’s also a bit diverse in action.
University: 6/10, nothing special, lacks viable options, very straightforward map.
City Center: 9/10, I’ve had some of my most crisp rollouts here, flanking is good here, and the elevator is nice.

Paris: 6/10, Actually not a map I hate, I wouldn’t mind seeing it in competitive. The bias here is strong because as Doom I can rollout through the left, and I’ve had some crazy good kills here, I once killed 4 people by myself, haha.
The 2nd point is fun.

Rialto: 8/10, it feels like a place id go for vacation, a summer breeze, followed by icecream and pictures. I like it, it’s diverse, and I love the brawls in the bridge and people shooting, jumping and going to the higher and lower levels, also godlike potential for rollouts.

Route 66: 8/10, another fun map, looks quite nice since I find Zion to be super beautiful, 2nd point is a TON of fun, 3rd point is all hell let loose, I love it.

Temple of Anubis: 5/10, I just became sick of this map, it feels nothing is truly decent here, it’s either completely useless or entirely OP.

Volskaya Ind.: 6/10, just another map, not much to say.

Watchpoint G.: 8/10 Stunning visuals, feels like an actual base. Plenty of places to flank, and they’re decent too. Lots of elevation, great for moving around and position, angles, etc.

So yeah, my opinion. I play all 3 roles, but yeah, in DPS, I do onetrick Doom.

I used to like King’s Row because it was one of the most aesthetically pleasing map. But I agree, I think the map is a bit overrated. Most of the King’s Row fights are about poke and your tanks shielding the damage which can get old after a while. There’s no other way of playing the game besides poke because the maps are so small and the flanking routes are so predicable.

I think attacking and defending the first point of King’s Row is pretty fun though. It’s just the rest of the map that isn’t as fun as the fights mostly turn into poke until one of the team crumbles.
