With there being so many different maps, spread across 4 different modes, and more consistently being added, will there ever be a map draft? I mean this for the competitive mode only, since that’s where it would be the most useful.
My thoughts is that there’s a pre-game where all 12 players vote. The game mode itself is pre-determined, so that all modes are still played. I know Blizzard doesn’t want players to have too much control, otherwise specific game modes may be rarely played.
After players queue up and the system gets the game mode, the 12 players have 20-30 seconds to vote from a selection of 3-4 maps for that game mode. This allows time for players to discuss (whether it be through voice or text) their best maps for the mode, what they feel they can synergize most with, etc.
After the vote finishes, majority rules and it loads in like competitive does now for its pre-game. Anyone against the idea of having a little bit more control of what maps are being played?
Alternatively, Blizzard could always introduce a seasonal rotation of maps. Thoughts on that as well if that’s more up your alley.
