There are othe examples of healing turrets in other games.
Ying for example from paladins.
Ying is actually one of my most played supports but I also have a grasp on how frustrating it is when her turrets ignore our tanks who are dying.
Id rather go off what we know rather than " could be"
Because this is Blizzard, and they hardly ever give ideals. Ideally turrets would have better priority but they already show in game that they do not. That is fair criticism.
Why not both?
Does Sym really need turrets?
Yes, she does, it is part of her kit since day one.
But it is weighing her down…

While we’re at it why not bring back shield generator aswell, while also adding back junkrat’s shield generator voice line
Ying’s healing illusions would perfectly fit Symmetra’s hardlight theme. Back when Geoff Goodman first mentioned retrying Support Sym, I suggested taking a look at Ying but I have no idea if he saw it.
Being able to teleport between illusions also lets Sym keep the teleport aspect in her kit without actually taking up its own ability slot.
I disagree. Though I don’t think they’re overpowered, they’re very unfun to play against and I believe they’re weighing her down. She’s in a similar place as Doomfist.
Her turrets are not weighing her down, people seem to just want sym to be something entirely different.
That makes no sense.
Lets take soldier, and give him a sword, he can be a melee tank.
No we dont, but the reason I said that is because you said that people who want symm as support “know better” so I brought up a counter point of how they often suggest healing turrets for her healing and how thats actually not going to be good.
If they make her almost or completely like Ying from paladins then that’s an instant main for me.
I couldnt care less if you find turrets unfun to play against, others find them fun to play with, that is not an argument.
What is up with people’s obsession with support sym? She was NEVER a support. She was a defense DPS thrown into the support class. Everything she could do torb could do.
At that point though thats just hard copying Yings kit though.
Which you know fair enough. Its not as if Barik isnt just Torb copy pasted 
If they went for that though Id hope theyd copy yings ability to shatter her illusions for burst healing.
Im currently 50/50 on support vs dps Symm. Both are appealing. As long as support Symm doesnt end up feeling worse or stuck in a nerf loop.
And yet they made Echo a support into a dps(yes she had support abilities but changed because of her ult)
It’s more they become useless at higher levels of play.
Blizzard miscategorized sym, which is something most people thought at the time.
I dont understand the obsession either, it is very weird.
Everyone thinks it’s Sym but I want it to be one of the really popular DPS like Cass, Solider, or Tracer. I just think it’d be funny.
