Man, some of you guys sound like you really hate OW/OW2

I don’t get why some of you continue bothering when all you do is just log on here to complain and cry and whine about a game we still don’t know a lot about; a game so radically different from Overwatch 1 you can’t apply current balance philosophies to it.

seriously though, I really do feel some of you guys really just hate not only Overwatch, but also anything surrounding Overwatch 2. clearly it’s cutting into your mental state to be this deliberate and constant about it. honestly go touch some grass, realize there’s better things in the world to think about, etc. I’m really just lost on the way some of you speak on why you still play or talk about it.

If you really hate or don’t like OW2, don’t buy it and move on to something else instead of lingering on it here for no reason

anyways, I’m still very excited for Overwatch 2 and am excited to see how these reworks play out, because we simply don’t know yet.

This entire forum is littered with some pretty toxic individuals, so best to just consider this either the minority of the very loud group of people

I am also someone that is pretty pumped for OW2. Still hopeful for development, but definitely took a bonk on my noggin when Jeff left the team. Hope the development is still somewhat smooth and we get some more cool updates in November during Blizzconline!

I’m hopeful for OW2, but as someone who prior to about 4-ish years ago was very much enjoying how Tanks worked in the game.

It saddens / angers me, the possibility of Overwatch just becoming more CoD / Valorant like and ditching the original design in favor of something that benefits OWL.

OWL has very much soured this game for me and I was hoping that OW2 might make it easier to swallow so to speak with more Tanks overall, and major changes to many of the characters and modes.

But so far that seems not to be the case.

There’s plenty of valid criticism and concerns for Overwatch 2. It’s not fair to just blindly dismiss it because it’s negative or because we don’t have all the information available. These are people who have spent years playing Overwatch and are highly invested in the outcome of the game. It’s natural that they’re passionate about what they’ve shown us and want to share their thoughts.

I’ll agree a lot of people take it too far and lean a bit more on the dramatic side, but this is just dismissive to all the people who care and want to submit valid feedback.

It’s not a new game that we can just ignore, it will ERASE and REPLACE the game we love, we can complain as much as we want.

I really am lost on how you can think that. We’ve seen one tank rework and haven’t seen a new tank character yet. You literally don’t know how it’s going to be aside from it being different from current.

I also don’t see any connection to OW2 being only or OWL; they’re just taking the game in a different direction. In fact, some of the most popular OWL players that make big players are the tank players; and a lot off OWL fans are sad to see tank duos go.

I’m happy you brought this point up because I wanted to address it.

There’s a fundamental difference between valid criticism and concerns and just being there to whine. Trust me, I have concerns about the Sombra rework. That being said, I do not create or post onto threads talking about how Overwatch 2 is going to be a terrible, no-good, dead on arrival game that is only made for DPS players that’s killing tanks and supports.

There’s a large difference.

is that really how you wanna spend your free time? really? look, that’s kinda sad.

I like OW, and I think I will really love OW2, when I get to play it.

I jus think the DPS queue times are going to be super painful. Doesn’t mean I hate the game.

You’re 100% right OP. I’m 90% sure the majority of the forums don’t even play Overwatch anymore. And whether or not they still play, anything Blizzard does is seemingly wrong in their eyes. Oh well, we can still enjoy the game

What is so different about it

Also maybe ppl just don’t want to get even worse version of the current game.

Amen. The forums seem to be littered with people who don’t know how to calmly and intelligently express themselves. It’s more like “REEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”

?? The fact every character will be very different from their current iteration, 5v5 instead of 6v6, new maps, new game-modes, no more 2cp…

what do you mean what’s different about it

we’ve seen like 3 reworks, one map, and a video of the new gamemode, but yes, immediately worse game

again, it sincerely sounds like you want the game to be bad to validate your nebulous discontent

the forum is just a wasteland of hate, People have no idea what they want from this game and should be avoided at all costs as the developers do.

It is not like the OW team has shown that they are capable of proper balance. Ofc I will be skeptical. What do you expect?

How dare people discuss things on the internet.

Lol, that’s rich!

I can’t speak for anyone but myself. I love playing overwatch. I do not like the game that overwatch 2 appears to be.

This is essentially the problem. People who bought and enjoy overwatch will no longer be able to play this game when the sequel comes out.

I mean if you think about it, Overwatch is in one of the worst state it’s been in (not only with lack of content but also with double shield meta), in a while. Some people would like them to add something to shake up the meta or the feel of the game but we got told that, that’s all being kept for OW2. This means most people who are dissatisfied with Overwatch are more likely to not like OW2 because it’s an easy scapegoat as to why Overwatch is in the state it’s in.

There’s also people who don’t like changes (like the people saying the last “good” hero was Ana) , these people are most likely not liking Overwatch 2 because it’s gonna change too much too fast.

There’s also the “rework” crowd, they might not be happy because their main got reworked, specially after seeing Mercy, Torb and Symmetra’s reworks.

Finally, you have tank mains (and to some extend support mains) who have been seeing their roles being trashed up until now and are basically getting told “you’re the only one now but not only that you’ll be playing more like a DPS than a tank now”. On top of that, you have an even more niche role the Off Tanks, who are seeing their role being threaten by main tanks. If you watch any stream a lot of the time the off tank player swapped (probably because they felt like it was needed).

A lot of people are saying this and I don’t get it. There’s a few characters like Winston who are only getting an alt fire. I don’t call that “very different” it’s like when Dva got her missiles at the end of the day she played the same. Unless they actually show EVERY hero getting reworked, I think it’s fair to assume that most heroes will play the same and the ones that are getting changes, like Rein, are more changes that they should’ve gotten anyway as QoL (they also need to look into his pin and ult because these 2 are still the 2 less consistent abilities in the game as pin sometimes sucks you up but sometimes boops and his ult sometimes goes under the payload but other times above it depending on where on the map it is and what payload it is)

I was with you until you said that. No reason to stoop to that level.

I know in game I make a point about how unfun the game is. But that’s just memeing. Game is fun, even if it does have some fairly large issues that aren’t really getting addressed meaningfully. Specifically smurfs, throwers, account sellers, and similar match maker crashers
