On one hand-
I feel the range of her old halt when you actually see what was going on, was pretty crazy.
On the other- at a minimum, I’m glad they buffed the speed.
I’m curious to see how it settles once players get used to that 50% speed boost.
Halt can definitely make some big plays with big group pulls-
But I think for the most part, halt was typically used to snag one or two people.
I’m hoping with the range reduction but speed increase, once players get used to it - they’ll be able to more consistently use halt to ensnare enemies from similar or further ranges than previously due to the speed increase.
It’s not like they tried tweaking it first. That big sphere you see is FIVE TIMES the size of the one in experimental. FIVE TIMES.
Wish Halt was coded differently.
Instead of a sphere it would be more of a Horizontal Ellipse or disc shape
Minimal to no Verticle reach but the same reach Horizontally as it is in live.
I understand the need for the nerf since it is bushi that players can be plucked and pulled by Orisa-Hog combo but they don’t really consider alternative solutions.

In volume- Sure. but I feel using volume to paint the context of size is slightly misleading.
It’s 3 meters reduced on each side, 6 meters end time end total, being about 8-9 meters wide instead of 14-15 (I know the range is 4 meters versus 7, but there seems to be some discrepancy from what I can find on the projectile itself having “range”, and it’s “4” or “7” meters from the edge of that projectile itself from what I’ve read)
Not that I want to come across as though I’m saying it’s not a sizeable size reduction, it is.
But it’s still an 8-9 meter bubble to grab people in with. It’s not “small” in and of itself by any means.
You literally just used an illustration of the volume to argue it was overpowered…
It was a demonstration of the range represented by a sphere- Sure. But relating the range to volume is IMO dubious- Im looking at how far the ability can physically reach someone- and what that range looks like. Its one thing to say this can reach 4-7 meters from a central point, another to go “well the cubic volume…”
But it’s ultimately a good gauge of the total area controlled by the ability. Could you possibly get some video with that same tool and the new 4m range? It will look TINY compared with the original, I promise you. They should have started with 6 or maybe 5.5.
The guy hasn’t been updating anything sadly- I’m curious to see about doing it myself though. If for nothing else it’d help give everyone a better mental image of what’s going on with the new ability.
orisa would need a complete overhaul to give some interaction with the enemy main tank to be interesting.
that is why rein is beloved and orisa isn’t.
there is an actual interaction with the enemy rein forcing you to outplay him for most value.
How else are you supposed to get kills in a meta spammed with shields 24/7?
while its good direction i think 4 meter is too small

Do you really believe that? Nobody find her to be more fun now, they only say this so the people stop complaining, they don’t care about orisa being good or fun, they want her to be forgoten and that’s exactly what will happen.

Making something harder to use supposed to get you better results.
I find it a way more frustrating ability to usebthe shorter distance allows the ghost thether effect to happen more frequently and it make it far far easier escape with normal movement.
You practically have to shoot it at someone but at that point you might as well something else that keeps them in place like a stun
