This game needs it. Beleive me it will reduce the amount of toxicity.
Thatâs not gonna stop them from playing the game.
Believe.*
But no, it wouldnât stop toxicity, and I think itâs pretentious to assume your age demographic is immune to an aspect of human nature.
Anonymity will always make toxicity a problem in online games.
Right, Report suspected account, let blizzard run a age check
Or OPTION B. start adding provocative skins then their mommyâ will restrict them to play the game
theres loads of solutions.\
South korea has a smart age check system where u have to submit a valid piece of document to play a game.
Where is that emoji? Ah there it isâŚ
You seem to be overestimating Blizzardâs capability.
Whether a person really is 18+ or not, they would say that they are.
Which means they follow adult rules. Not the rules designed to restrict softer, more feeble-minded hormonal teenagers. That means people are expected to act like adults; things like reports of Abusive Chat because someone is offended would plummet.
In other words, would be no, âthis is unacceptable because think of the childrenâ.
Nah im just tired of comp being ruined by 10 year old kids and me having a ratio like this;
WIN WIN LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE WIN ⌠and forward.
- not to mention the troll posts they make on forums
Nah i dont even talk ingame.
Match Throwing kid that screetches in his mic and picks hanzo thinking its funny.
The game is rated Teen by the ESRB ratings but the online interactions are unrated so go figure, who would have guessed why they canât give a rating for online interactions. It wonât stop young kids from playing it, when I was managing a Game Stop when GTA 3 game out do you know how many parents I had to explain the rating to and they said they donât care as their little kids still wanted it and it was amazing how many times those same parents would bring it back to me complaining about it because they were too stupid to understand that they were told what to expect. Ratings donât mean anything as at the end of the day if a parent says itâs fine then nothing will stop the kids from having access to it, itâs about as effective as the verify your age drop downs for websites.
Did you know TF2 and Counter-Strike are both rated M.
Suffice to say ESRB doesnât âgateâ children from games.
Also Toxic players tends to be adults anyway, so ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
If games like CoD, Battlefield, and etc arenât able to keep out toxicity, what makes you think making OW an 18+ rating will do.
Again you aint reading.
Add a system that actually verifies the age.
South koreans are smart people i gotta admit.
Basically you can try it yourself
try to register any game account in south korea VPN / or so
You will be greeted with a page that asks you to put in your ID wich is goverment controlled. and its very smart. age control at its finest.
Considering you arenât required to have a government issued ID of any kind in many places it doesnât make it a practical thing to do. Sadly I know people well over 18 that just donât have anything they need a government issued ID for so they donât have one.
Itâll make overwatch MORE toxic because itâs usually the adults who are more toxic tbh
Not having documents with yourself after 18 is punishable by law.
Where are you talking about, I donât have to have any documents with me when I go someplace in the U.S.
Europe

Itâs not gonna help whatsoever, there are still adults that are toxic, in fact the majority of toxic people Iâve met have been adults.
Doesnât matter if age verification is used or not.
