new and less experienced players are often combined with the smurf accounts of the most loyal players
waiting times are very long
you are forced to drug matchmaking with the scoundrel patent we saw on youtube (and you also have the courage to say play fair)
you are forced to insert totally harmful features with the sole purpose of deceiving users about the fact that there is innovation: to crossplay with users who have machines that play at 30-60fps, enormous latency times, often on TV with other latency, with a controller, or deprive the user of being destined for the best servers for himself.
Is your plan to keep the game alive until overwatch 2? The only thought that the user will have when evaluating the purchase of Overwatch 2 will be all this mass of junk and scam; and the trailer of an escort to a robot or a single / coop mode that nobody cares about will not be enough, especially in a title like overwatch.
You have sold a free to play title like Overwatch thanks to the reputation that Blizzard had at the time of launch, you will not succeed with Overwatch 2 because you no longer have that heritage, the public perceives you as Electronics Arxx in the darkest times due to the aforementioned policies, and the numerous farewells of the staff.
Put the game free to play, and introduce various innovations to make the days of gamers “fair” as so much declaimed, perhaps giving up some more profits.
The only reason to this it that game is just boring and unfun.
So many changes that killed many unique and fun parts of this game happened that people started to leave
And yeah, game right now is in the most available state it has ever been - half of original cost
Don’t forget, if it were FtP, the game would actually need content that drastically improves (or shakes up) how the game is played. They couldn’t survive off of just skin events.
Thing is, a lot of the Overwatch team’s “big content” is usually lackluster, poorly thought out, or just straight up tone death.
Also, there’s just no appeal for the game from the outside: most are just waiting for OW2 (which would be the better buy) and most balance patches are either love taps, or band-aid fixes.
Something tells me that wouldn’t go over well, especially with how Activision monetizes their IPs…
Yes lets turn OW in to a garabge FtP game like Apex or fortnight which is packed with microtransactions, make it FtP so if you actually want to progress at a normal pace you have to pay out the nose, or your progress slows down to slower then jupiter goes around the sun
True, a lot of games just seem to not be able to find that balance between “fun and enjoyable” with “grind if dedicated”… If someone could crack it to where content could be free-to-play friendly, while also a bit of a challenge, would be welcomed. Something that requires some level of dedication to get what you want, with or without paying, while also not being a slog to do so.
NO
free mean there will be sea of cheaters will ruin the game
already have many cheaters but when the game go free the cheater can get back again to the game in 5min no need to buy a copy of the game and spend 15$ its just free he already will have 10 free accounts to use them in 1 day and will create 10 for the next day it will be a disaster
