One thing I noticed when I am on group is, that Group Chat is default when joining a game. You have to manually switch to “team chat”
I think this is really bad for teamwork as you are not communicating with the team, but only that specific group. In OW communication is essential.
I think by default it should put players in team chat, and if groups want to be isolationists then they can manually switch to group chat.
That seems counter-intuitive.

I’d rather not have my private conversation get blasted to team chat when joining a game but rather have the option to finish said conversation and swap over.

Set your default to teamchat and you will automatically switch.
Problem is many people forget to swap over, or just never swap over.
I think the opposite should be true instead.
Manually set it as Team chat by default, and if they want to change settings to group chat as default they can in settings.
And that’s their choice. People are not and should not be forced to be in Team Chat.
Yes, and get in the habit of typing “team chat :)” at the beginning of any match where you have a stack on your team. As someone who used to stack regularly I can attest that it can be easy to forget.
Nah man FaylenSol is right. Nobody in a private channel wants to be unexpectedly autoswitched. If you want that, change it yourself.

Maybe I don’t want to hear a bunch of private conversations accidentally while Im listening in team chat? I already hear that enough from discord + open mic.
This is not about forcing anyone to join team chat. It’s frustrating to play competitive, and see a two/three-stack isolated in their own voice channel.
Most groups are happy to switch when you ask nicely - some forget, some want some sort of confirmation that the whole team is friendly. The ones that aren’t willing can go back to their isolated channel.
