I just played couple of QP games and… what even is this? 0 synergy between her abilities. Like if Doomfist and Tracer had a child with a disability. Someone tested this at blizz and be like “oh yeah, it’s perfect.”

Her gameplay loop is extremely simple.

It’s the easiest character to catch people off guard with.

She functions like every other DPS, I guess? What were you expecting me to say? So first you’re gonna channel your inner Mexican and channel the Spanish energy to the game through match chat, then you’re gonna feel the flow of sweet invisibility running through your veins as you sneak up on an unsuspecting target. Right as your invisibility drains from your veins, you hit them with a virus, draining their health to critical levels. If they fight back, you will channel your inner Mexican and deport yourself 12 meters away with your handy translocator.
Like my guy, if you asked me to explain Tracer’s gameplay, it would literally be: Come from off angle→ find people→ push with team. OW is not and has never been a complex game, dude. Sorry to tell you

I’ve playing her like a cass tbh try to stay in the mix with ur team use covers a lot have the map awareness to know how n where to throw tp for escapes
There’s also opportunities for flanks but I’m not so well versed in giving advice for that
With the tick damage damage of virus u can focus squishies try to focus squishertons do some side stepping and manage cooldowns enemies will be hunting you down
Follow through ur picks when u do decide to jump at someone u wanna try to catch them off guard but that’s more to the flanking bit you’ll still be able to land virus and shots mid range to pick someone off
Obviously the enemy is going to be good at snapping their focus to u and comboing but try to just keep ur aim on target as best as u can and be quick on the reactions when you follow through for when to escape
Mainly using covers and off angles as well to throw off enemy focusing there are times where they’ll just drop tryna focus ur team and pull up on u but then try to escape somewhere where u can use invis run to get around a corner far enough for them to not be able to chase or shoot u by chance
You can also relatively shoot at range as well just for some chip damage her fall off isn’t the worst it’ll allow u to chip away some health before u jump on an opportunity for a pick
But don’t tp in the middle of the enemy for it tho like ur crowd surfing
Sometimes just using virus and shooting is better then a hack but u also still gotta worry about who u wanna hack to stop them from hitting a cooldown

Her Virus and Teleport drive me nuts, I feel like they should swap buttons. Probably just me though.
it is strange there are A LOT of novice sombras. i guess she does take time to get use too, i have so many hours on her its just second nature to me i guess. i just won 6 in a row recently with her being a menace
even if you dont kill you just annoy. go to the back line and harass, dont even have to score a lot of kills… just dont die. trick is not to come out of stealth right away… wait for the meter to expire so you can throw escape… works a lot. sure your out of the fight most of time but if you just consistently make the back line turn around they slowly die… the front line
if not then yea probably a loss game anyways no matter what hero your on. also if you are ABSOLUTELY sure you can come out of stealth before your meter expires for a sure kill. you have to be really certain tho and judge correctly. i still dont at times
The only way to “fix" sombra is for Blizzard to first decide on an identity for her. Is she a Hacker or an Assassin? She cant operate as both and be balanced in a way that is fun and reasonable.

she is an assassin now for sure… hack is kind of useless only on certain heroes. its better just to come out with virus instead of hack most of the time
another novice sombra mistake is them trying to hack all the time
I’m not entirely sure what you mean, but basically it’s simple.
• Throw the Translocator so you can go invisible.
• Get into position and wait until invisibility ends on its own.
• Throw Virus.
• Secure the kill with the SMG — or at least try to.
• Throw the Translocator to escape.
The problem is that you always have to wait for the invisibility to end on its own, because if you start attacking earlier, you’ll be standing inside the enemy team without a Translocator.
For some reason, people expect Sombra players to jump straight into the enemy team with no escape ability.
And stop hacking before attacking — that gives the enemy more than one second to react to your engagement. Use Hack instead to interrupt enemy abilities.
i think hack is moot in most situations. gives the enemy time to react. on heroes where i know hack wont really do anything i just throw virus and i also am kind of ways away… not to far but not to close and with certain heroes this is a necessity. i never come out of stealth right next to mccree… i make sure im out of his grenade range or am able to avoid it if i can
yea it gives you extra damage but its better not to have the enemy react to you. if your accurate and land your virus and hit your shots its enough to kill or make an enemy think about evading and get nervous so they dont heal the frontline or are busy just worrying about you

You have to use your E to get invis, which is your death escape. Which flanker is without death escape in this game? Literally no one. Don’t use E, get no invis.

How long does it take all together? 8-9 seconds? Your team will be already dead in 4v5. And not even guaranteed that you will get a kill and escape.
