Title.
Its such a waste of time trying to check the career profiles of people when almost all are locked.
When you right-click someone’s profile in the social menu, if their Career Profile is locked, please make the option to click it greyed out and inaccessible to click, where when you hover over it, a little popup or something goes “This user’s career profile is locked” or something, to save us time.
Please and thank you.

Also make people with private profiles unable to look at other people’s profiles. If you have to hide your stats there’s zero reason you should be able to use anyone else’s against them.

A hundred trillion % this

It’s called lazy coding. They never fixed this problem since its introduction in OW1.

You’re not necessarily trying to use their stats, sometimes, you just want to assess where the game put you.
Nowadays, it’s really hard to know where you’re playing.
They screwed up the whole Social menu in this game. Locking career profiles by default and hiding groups is dumb.

The average person with a locked profile is not going to care about others profiles either. We are over 10yo like that.
You argument makes locking profiles redundant. If you don’t care about looking at it and others want too, why lock it.
Because it always lead to flaming. I dont want to enable a feature that brings out infinite toxicity but only benefits 0.1% of cases.

So you do care about it and have a reason you prefer it locked. The way you initially said it “was care about others either”. Either insinuating you didn’t care about yours. I understand now.

Would rather something more intuitive like - ‘hover and see top three heroes’ - so that we don’t have to load into a separate window altogether
I’d even like it if players could just pick their top three heroes themselves so that private players can at least give a sense of who they want to play without all of the stat sharing (especially when you haven’t even touched your top hero in like 4 years)

I said we don’t care about profiles anyway, as a response to a comment saying that people with a locked profile should not see others. As in, it is a pointless measure. That does not mean i dont care about my own profile not being visible.
I personally prefer transparency for fairness. If someone is afk and has a low win percentage I can know if they are throwing or just low battery. You’re performing poorly and I see you’re using a new character. Gives toxic people an explanation they can’t complain about.
You would be closer to the truth if you said that 2+2 equals 5, unironically.
Most toxic dudes about profile stats Ive ever seen have Private Profiles themselves. Since forever mate.

This is super annoying. I’ve made probably 3 posts in the past asking for this exact same thing.
It’s like seeing a store with a sign that says “come in, we’re open!” and then you walk in and all the lights are off, nothing on the shelves, no one at all in sight… and you’re standing there like “wtf is this about?” haha

This is not what I’ve seen from personal experience. The toxic ones are almost always the ones with private profiles. and funnily enough they’re usually the ones putting out poor stats visible to everyone on the scoreboard, shame they can’t private that (although with enough complaints I imagine Blizzard might add that as an option in the future).
People with private profiles are almost consistently the kind of person who has no problem dishing it but crumble instantly when they take it.

Private profiles should never been default. It only encouraged more smurfing.

Or at least make it so that it’s clearly obvious from the right click menu… “Career Profile (Private)” instead of “View Career Profile” maybe? Or something. I shouldn’t have to click it to figure it out.
I wonder why people are so curious about other people’s profiles. I never bother looking as looking at my top heroes won’t help you as I play all kinds of heroes. I assume that is true for many others.
