This is the most fun playing overwatch I have had in thousands of hours of play time. Instead of a PVE overwatch 2 it should have been Junkenstein style. The ability to customize your characters is what has made RPG and Blizzard great. Adding the customization via talents to Overwatch is exactly what is needed to make this game infinitely replayable. We need the community to speak up and let Blizzard know this is what we need. Of course in the current version there are some challenges with balance but this is always the case in every game mode. Go ahead and leave competitive as it is but if possible this should even make its way to competitive. Customization is key in not only gameplay but also in characters and hopefully Blizzard stays on this track and makes Overwatch great again. #MOGA
They’ll bring it back periodically during random events throughout the year like all of their weird modes.
I’m with you on this! The new Junkerstein lab Halloween event is awesome. Blizzard really delivered something special here. It’s got the perfect mix of fun and customization without going overboard, and the gameplay feels fresh.
Blizzard, 15% of the player base is currently enjoying this mode,another reason it should stay around. Making it a permanent mode would be a great move. Players are loving it, and it’s too good to come and go.
I agree 100%, I love customizing my hero’s abilities, plus every game feels different. 
Agreed. Make it permanent. Include all heroes and cement it as a main mode in quick play. This is too good to simply be arcade.
This may be the future of overwatch, they did qp hacked with choose your passives, now this limited hero choose your own adventure; if they did this with the whole cast and made set tiers (eliminating the rng), this could work. I have been playing this game mode exclusively and am having a BLAST with it.
id love if they kept the mode and gradually added the rest of the characters
Like with archives, people say they want it permanently but quickly will realise some things are better when you arent able to play it for a while
If it was permanent 100% guaranteed people quickly grow bored of it and it would lose its appeal. Making it a temporary mode they add a couple times a year is how you get people excited long term

hear you, but I actually think that making the mode permanent wouldn’t lead to burnout. Instead, it would give players more freedom to explore the game on their own terms rather than having to wait for a specific time of year. A lot of us want to play these modes regularly, and taking them away feels like missed opportunities.
And about the 15% statistic while it doesn’t show full engagement, it still tells us there’s a strong interest in the mode. It makes sense that players should be able to come back to it whenever they’re in the mood, instead of building up excitement for something that gets taken away. I think players can stay interested even if it’s a permanent part of the game; it just needs occasional updates or additions to keep things fresh.
This mode is SO fun. I hope they continue building on it and adding more heroes to the mode every year at least.
100% agree! Was a blast, and one of my favorite modes. Should just be an all the time thing, that they expand for other characters.
At least let it stay in custom games if nothing else. That way people could still enjoy it.
Unlike other modes this game is traditional overwatch with customization which means it’s even more replayable than the regular game. I exclusively played this mode when it is up and don’t see how in anyway it would ever get boring. Quite the opposite as opposed to non customizable overwatch can get boring.

A few months back, I shared my concerns about Overwatch 2 and mentioned my shift to Marvel Rivals when it comes. Since then, Marvel Rivals has continued to thrive, recently surpassing 20 million players.
In contrast, Overwatch 2 player count has been declining, with recent reports indicating a drop in active players.
I hope this serves as a wake-up call. The gaming community values transparency, fulfilling promises, and engaging content. It’s time to reflect on these aspects and consider meaningful changes to regain former players. Would love to see Junkerstein Lab as more of a staple and evolve here! Do it (Arnie voice)
Just play the permanent PVE modes.
I play this game for pvp not pve and this game mode adds the much needed refresh to the stagnant pvp. Worry about balance for the top 1% using special formats for everyone else fun/customization should be the goal.
