Make bronze 2vs2, fill the other roles with bots

Think about it.
This is probably the only way to get balanced games in bronze.
Bots are code. They’re consistent. You don’t run the risk of having a feeding DVA who’s more often dead than your frontline Ana.
And if your bots aren’t great, both teams have the same bots. So the game is fair.

On top of that, bronze is a pit of despair. Many players will throw games, leave, be really toxic, or even smurf. Every time I open the game, I get the message someone I reported got banned for abusive chat.
Bots can’t do that. And you can talk to your bots and not only will they not talk back, but they won’t switch or play better, but it teaches you to not worry about other players and to just play with the cards you dealt with. And it gives you confidence in your abilities.
Because then you’re in control of your games, not your tank, not your support, not your DPS.

And finally, it would be so uninteresting for smurfs. Who wants to go down to fight 1 or 2 real players and a bunch of bots? No one will go that low and silver players are much less interesting because they have the tools to actually fight back.

EDIT, since the same talking point always comes back.

  • Bots don’t fall to their death on maps like Illios, it was fixed.

  • Bronze can get destroyed by Bots. Though, again, it’s not the goal. The goal is for games to be as balanced as possible. Something impossible in lower ranks because players are very inconsistent, and their skill, or lack of, varies greatly.

  • There would be still the same amount of bronzes ON EACH TEAM (1 or 2, depending on the role). Meaning, no, you wouldn’t be able to rank up just because you can destroy some bots. You can rank up because you can destroy the other 1 or 2 bronze players against you.

EDIT2:

Tldr;
Make bronze fight against other people from the exact same role. Other roles get replaced by bots.
NOT BOTS VS BRONZE. It’s still 4 bronze fighting each other in each game to rank up. And bots are just filling, consistency.

Generally bots are worse than bronze players, like way worse

Also if you struggle in bronze i recommend u start flanking more often, great way to climb

The issue is that they are consitently bad and predictable.

I would not want to play with AI i cant communicate with.

No that wouldn’t be fair at all. The bots would rank up way too fast and then it would just be left to the bronze players again.

more often dead than your frontline Ana

Happens when Anas get flanked and have no peals from team. In bronze dps neither track flankers nor peal. Even if an Ana pings the flanker it is highly unlikely in that rank to get a peal.

Good, wouldn’t want it any other way. The goal isn’t for bots to carry bronze players. The goal is to make the games more balanced. It’s still one or two players against another one or two players.
If you don’t understand why I make this suggestion, add me, let’s play some games. Maybe it’ll make you change your mind.

Even when I asked ChatGPT why playing in low rank is frustrating, it told me this:

Playing against low level players in Overwatch can be frustrating because they may not have a good understanding of the game’s mechanics, strategies, and roles, leading to mistakes that can cost their team the match. Similarly, playing with low level players can also be frustrating as they may not be able to effectively coordinate with the rest of the team, making it difficult to win matches. Additionally, players in lower ranks are often more toxic, leading to a negative and unenjoyable atmosphere.
Balanced games with low level players can be difficult to achieve. The skill levels of players can vary greatly in low levels, making it challenging for matchmaking systems to create balanced games.

Even the bots know.

Bronze VS Bots. One of the funniest matches Ive ever seen due to the hole.

No thanks, I dont want to have bots who will constistently feed.

No offense… but in OW2 it’s impossible to stay in bronze… Unless you are absolutely terrible at the game. I can’t even smurf in Plat or Diamond, I end up carrying too hard. Yes in season 2 I’ve already solo climbed 3 accounts to GM on support.

If you want a better team then improve. If you want a DVa with amazing game awareness, positions smartly, uses matrix smartly, peels… sorry to tell you but they are all in Masters and GM. The reason your DVa is feeding, is because he’s at your skill level.

It’s funny how Blizzard makes bots that are dead weight and hackers make bots that are absolute gods lol.

No offense, but 99% of people can’t relate to your experience.

99% of players can climb up the ranks if they only cared to.

So easy for them to watch Top500 streamers, learn from them, how they position and use their abilities. Watch guides on the heroes.

Bronze is the place for people who dont understand the game on a fundamental level.
Change my mind

Bronze would destroy bots. Just look at the video I posted. Its hilariously bad AI. The bronze players decimate the bots! At least when the bots arent stuck or jumping off the map.

It’s outdated, it was fixed.
Anyway, AI isn’t set in stone because it’s going to be used in PVE, so they kind of need to fix those things anyway.

They’re super consistent at falling to their deaths at maps like Nepal or Ilios.

Looks like they’re not.

That would destroy the entire point of competitive? The bronze players would rank up to silver, vs real players and get whooped on, and then just drop back down to bronze again. Bronze players want to play against other bronze players. Not bots

Yeah, if you’ve ever tried playing against the AI. Even the hardest setting is a snooze fest. They are super easy.

It seems like you struggle to grasp the idea.

Ok, imagine playing a game of soccer (or any other sport) with just your friends. Sometimes, you’ll have better friends on one team and the other team will be much worse. This can make the game really unfair and not as fun because one team is really strong and the other team is really weak.

Now, imagine if some of your friends were replaced by robots. The robots would be really good at playing and they would always follow the rules and play fair. So, both teams would have an equal number of strong players, including both friends and robots. This would make the game much more fair and balanced. And, it would also make the game much more fun because both teams would have an equal chance to win.
