Major FPS Drop in Stadium Mode

Compared to regular gameplay modes, my FPS takes a significant hit whenever I load into this mode. Normally, I have stable 120-140 FPS on Ultra settings, but in Stadium, it averages 80-90 FPS, sometimes even lower during intense moments.

Same here. Though my hardware probably doesn’t help. Never had any problems getting 60 FPS (My settings) consistently on Overwatch before though. Disabled anti-aliasing, reflections, shadows, everything I had on, and dropped in-game resolution all the way to 60 and nothing seemed to change. Then disabled shadows and dropped resolution to 50, deactivated windows game bar and did some other windows optimization stuff, still nothing.

Righ now I’m moving the game to my fastest SSD (Which only had Windows on it), then I’ll disable GHub (So I’ll have to rely on onboard profiles), and configure Battle.Net to close itself when I start Overwatch. If that doesn’t work, I’ll probably just revert all this bs and give up on stadium for a while. Either that or I’ll format my PC and install some ultra-optimized custom version of Windows.

BTW, specs are:
CPU: Intel Pentium G4560
RAM: 16Gb
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 650
SSDs: 2x 250 Gb (one is an Adata SU630)
HDD: 3Tb (Western Digital)

Same here, since I have a low-end PC, it’s stutters a lot, for example in normal competitive even in intense moment it’s get 80 steady fps, when I play stadium it’s get me around 60 which is fine, until it starts randomly dropping to 30~40 even 20 when it gets intense.

I have a Rx 9070 and a 5700X3D and I’m still experiencing stutters. I have no issue maintaining 300 fps (and more but I cap it there) in regular modes but even if I cap my fps at 120 I still experience major stutters in stadium.

I thought it was just me playing on an older console. I’m on PS4, and i got bad frame drops as well

Same and I’m also on ps4

Glad to see I´m not the only one.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3d
GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 4080 Super
RAM: 32 GB
SSD: 1.8 TB

Even so I have only a monitor which has a refresh-rate of 60FPS I can get it without bigger problems in any other mode but when I play Stadium there are moments like loading into themap where it goes down to 52 and it stutters a bit. I choose to have most settings on medium or high (some on ultra some even low) to have a nice combination between video quality and frames.
Those instances can sometimes be deciding if I can react quick enough or not so I hope that it´s some kind of bug which can be resolved from Blizzards side.

If it´s also happening on console (I´m playing on PC) I imagine it is some kind of bug effecting the game mode itself, at least I hope that because then there is a possibility to fix it.

Major framedrop, 7800XT 13900K, tons of SSD Space, 32Gig DDR5 at 6000MHz, regular comp, no real issue…only Stadium kills the frames…165Hz 3440x1440 Monitor…usually maintain 140+ at all times, but Stadium claims 140+, but you notice constant stuttering, and if you watch the FPS report it’s dropping to sub 50 very often for a split second…which makes the experience totally unfun and jarring.

Yes, I think it is the game mode. Quick play/comp modes are fine for me on console

Same here, on Xbox one x. Felt like 20FPS.

It made other game modes feel like they updated them to run with even more FPS, like, from 60 to 120, but I am not sure if playing Stadium did something to my eyes

I’ve heard from other ps4 players that the fps is around 30 or so

I just read a post on X that they recieved feedback for Stadium and one point was the poor performance. I can understand that this mode is more demanding and that especially older systems could have problems, but if also stronger systems have difficulties then I hope they can optimize it sooner than later. At least they´re already aware of the problems.

Glad to hear they’re aware of it, that’s good then

Its not just stadium for me. Its all of ow now has massive frame drops and desync.
Game is unplayable after update.

I´m sorry to hear that. Sometimes it seems that certain systems can be effected more than others after an update. Maybe some of your drivers need to be updated as well which cause malfunctioning or instability?

Same is unplayable i wish is fix soon because i want play this mode but all my Game i play so bad with low fps

I’m having major stuttering issues as well. Almost unplayable at times.

CPU: Intel i5 11600k
GPU: AMD 9070 XT

240hz monitor. Can play other games just fine. Tried older GPU drivers and brand new driver. Re-installed gpu driver with the help of DDU. Re-installed game. I play on mid to low settings to get the best performance and get 240 fps but the stuttering is so bad. Not sure what else to try.
