Hello,
i’m curious to know why exactly lucios ultimate has such a long windup animation.
you know, the jumping into the air before it activates.
does anyone know why this is?
if i compare it to zens ult (which is instant and heals far more) it just sounds lackluster…

Even though it’s instant, the healing from Zen’s ult can be nullified by Ana and even outdamaged by big burst (like Bastion’s ult or sniper headshots)
Whereas if you time it well, Lucio’s ult can even tank a Dva bomb or Riptire
I guess the windup is the trade-off for giving everyone massive healthpools rather than healing their standard healthpools super quickly
Because he has to drop the beat.

alright, i guess that makes sense.
thx for answering.
btw: is there any secret to pull that ult off faster or something?
There is! You can Beat drop onto things like cars or the payload to get it off much quicker, if i’m not mistaken it even works (to a lesser extent) on inclines or stairs but don’t quote me on that one
thx alot, i will try this out
Do it from the ground. Don’t come leaping from some incredibly high wall while pressing Q… good players will focus you down before you land.
