Lucio wall climb mechanic question (intended?)

I don’t remember lucio being able to climb any wall to any height. I thought he was restricted from this

Steps to replicate

  1. Choose Lucio
  2. Find high walls
  3. Wall ride on the high wall
  4. Look up
  5. Very quickly alternate jump up more wwhile looking left and right. Hard to describe but imagine climbing the wall in a criss-cross pattern . I emphasize that you need to spam this quickly.
  6. Repeat until youve scaled the barrier

Yes its intended and its worked like this the entire time, looking up or down while jumping off walls has been a known thing for a while and people who regularly play lucio learn to master cause it makes the difference in how high you go quickly or whether or not you’ll jump straight through that doorway, even if you arent doing the jumps if you find a long enough wall you’ll notice you gradually wallride at an angle going upwards

A while back they changed the wall riding mechanics for Lucio that made it significantly easier to wallride and climb up surfaces.

Yes, working as intended. You’ll still hit invisible walls and overhangs on occasion, but your potential mobility with Lucio is insane.

Crazy thing is, I’ve been playing Lucio for 6 years, and I’ll tune into a Lucio streamer like Frogger or Redshell and see them take Lucio somewhere I didn’t think possible.
