"Lucio takes skill"

A lot of people say this, but something I notice is that they rarely if ever back up their point. And I come to say that: Lucio does not take a lot of skill, especially for the fact that he is possibly a bigger goats enabler than Brig at this point.
Let me explain. I admit to not having played him too much but the times I have, he has just been super easy. The most “mechanically skillful” part of his kit is jumping into walls. And if you don’t need to play a character much to know how easy they are, that may be an indicator.
Of course, I do think he probably takes more skill than say, Mercy, Moira or Brig, but I believe he needs some nerfs. As I just said, he is the second biggest enabler of GOATs

Eh, its the easy entry point type characters with particular traits that are hard to optimize.

Trying to use hit projectile is a nightmare.

people can have opinions. People think genji needs no skill
people think widow needs no skill. Every hero at this point needs no skill according to the forums
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I mean sure in the comp he’s very easy but outside of it he’s pretty hard. Same situation as Ana where whenever the meta favors her a bit too much she just becomes extremely easy to pick up and be effective with.

Except for ana who is ‘the most skilled hero in the game’

Lucio has a low skill floor, but a high skill ceiling.

His kit enabling a meta shift is not an indicator of skill level, just how well he synergizes with other characters.,

My Lucio is absolute trash. He takes a lot of skill to do more than exist as a speed boost.

He literally just had a huge nerf.

Lucio requires a lot of skill. Especially after the many rounds of nerfs he’s gone through. Sure, at some point in the game, he was able to just heal his way out of a lot of situations, but now you have to rely heavily on wall-riding, jumping, and switching between speed and heals to stay alive and he doesn’t benefit his team anywhere nearly as much as he did. You’re saying “nerf” after a nerf that makes him practically useless

He has an almost 5% pickrate through all ranks and a 7% pickrate in GM making him the 2nd most picked support in gm and the 3rd most picked in all ranks.
Not to mention he is part of goats.
And wall-riding is not a skillful ability…

If any hero did not take skill, there would be no differences between a good one and a bad one.

Lucio is a very simple class to play, and so are most other supports in that category. Probably for good reason, mind you.

[INSERT MAIN HERE] is the only skill hero. Every other hero is braindead and rewards noskill players for no effort.

His skill floor used to be higher before the buffs, but his skill ceiling is still very high.

Its pretty hard to play lucio at a higher rank.

At its core its simple, peel for your team, but this gets pretty hard im not gonna lie.

skill or not, he had the nerfs coming to him for a looooong time.

I just wished they nerfed his healing instead of speed, but w/e

Yea well in a goats context, the highly skilled lucio might be 5% more effective than a player with equal gamesense and just doing the basics consistenty right.
