Lucio is a joke

Copied from official site ‘ Vishkar imposed controls on the residents in the name of building a more orderly society: enforcing curfews, cracking down on what the company perceived as lawless behavior, and exploiting the populace as a cheap labor force.

Lúcio wouldn’t stand for it.
…With his newfound fame, Lúcio realizes that he has an opportunity to make a difference and change the world for the better.’

Ironic.

lucio is an anarchist confirmed

Lucio isn’t using another businesses platform to broadcast his opinions, he’s using his own concerts. It would be like Bono standing up to China at his concerts.

@Krojack Despite the guy lives under an oppressive government and was using what he had to raise awareness?

Also, ‘He stole Vishkar sonic technology that had been used to suppress the people, and he converted it into a tool to rally them to action. In a popular uprising, they drove Vishkar out of their neighborhoods. Lúcio’s leadership made him a star overnight and a symbol for positive social change. His music skyrocketed in popularity. ’
…Yeah right Bono.

Updated Patch Notes

Lucio is banned from Lijiang Towers. We felt his attitude and music offended the well run hard working people of Lijiang. All stats and comp points earned there shall also be forfeited.

Lucio literally stole property from Vishkar to fight for good. :joy:

Stealing and using something against a companies will isn’t the same as going on their TV show and opening opposing something.

The distinction between them is negligible.

But here’s the other issue I haven’t seen anyone else discuss: the rule that he supposedly broke is not simply vague but literally undefined…

“Engaging in any act that, in Blizzard’s sole discretion, brings you into public disrepute, offends a portion or group of the public, or otherwise damages Blizzard image will result in removal from Grandmasters and reduction of the player’s prize total to $0 USD, in addition to other remedies which may be provided for under the Handbook and Blizzard’s Website Terms.”

The key phrase here is “in Blizzard’s sole discretion,” which means they are reserving to LITERALLY MAKE UP THE RULE AS THEY GO to punish any player they want for any reason, Justified or otherwise. Furthermore, in absolutely no universe was the magnitude of this player’s punishment reasonable.

Well venues would have to provide him a platform to do so in the first place, you know, so an audience can actually hear his message.

Oh…and here I was thinking there’d be a decent thread but its just more hongkong garbage…welp…my search continues and with more ellipses…

Technically it was stolen from Lucio’s father.

If you’re in charge of the concert then you pretty much can say what you want. Groups do it all the time at their concerts.

Wow well said, while this may not have been your intention you slammed him hard.

I always found Lúcio’s character somewhat flawed, but I’ve always hoped that was intentional.

Hoping the story will eventually reveal how Lúcio’s not as great a guy as he would like you to believe.
