Lucio better quality of life update (froggies unite)

1.) 8 dmg per pellet (headshot 32 dmg)
2.) Soundwave does not interrupt primary fire burst (4 pellets)
3.) No reload (Unlimited clip)
4.) Sound Barrier will affect Lucio the same time as ult cast (it will not affect teammates until Sound Barrier makes contact to the ground)
5.) Sound Barrier last 1 second longer (maybe +150hp)
6.) Bring back the ability to one-shot with Sound Barrier
7.) Amp it up cooldown reduce by 2 seconds
8.) Micro-reduce cooldown for mele
9.) 6% increase in projectile primary fire size
X.) 12.5m ‘Crossfade’ area/radius and 16 hp per second self-healing
(maybe) 205 hp

His pellets make sense. 4 beats a bar. 4 pellets/bullets per burst. Making his dmg to 8 makes sense because most DJs loop 8 bar - 16 bar (maybe 32, max 64). I’m a Dj and Lucio is the reason why I started playing overwatch. I’m 100% frog main! It makes more sense for Lucio not to have a reload as he is a DJ; an important part of DJing is looping and keeping the flow going, Lucio’s needs to feel more like a flow-state hero than he is now, at times he could be off-beat. His ult needs to feel more like a hit record.

Reloading and Soundwave interrupting shots really kills the Lucio’s flow. It is really hard to track how much ammo is left, or worst you shoot one bullet then have to reload or cancel that reload to Soundwave enemy players away and then finish that reload perhaps even after an Amp it up animation. It’s hard to remember or visually identify if the reload was completed. I’ve played thousands of hours of Lucio, I speak for all frog mains these changes will make Lucio better to play as, with or against. This will make him smoother. allowing more players to enjoy Lucio without giving him the crazy kill power he has now.

You don’t speak for me, I remember when I was a 2k hour main, even though that was a long time ago. I want nothing to do with such a thing. Go away with your nerfs and handrails and learn how to track your ammo.

lol it’s not a nerf or a handrail, it’s better quality of life. It’s underwhelming and just not fun shooting a few bullets or burst then having to either reload or use ‘Amp it up’ then reload after the ‘Amp it up’ animation. It doesn’t make sense with his lore to hit for 22 dmg or then possibility only have 1 bullet left in the clip. Lucio is a DJ; his kit needs to feel more like an endless-flow type of hero and not let his kit delay or stop anything. Lucio needs to perform more like a DJ/show artist. The show must go on!

lucio was beyond trash when his bullets did 16 damage per bullet, i cant even imagine what 8 body shot and 16 HS would be. thats atrociously garbage damage, the reddit lucio playstyle will be dumpstered. even with inf ammo, thats like saying sombra would be better with her bullets reduced from 8 dmg to 5, but she has inf ammo

I totally understand that, but I think you are not weighing the fact I said that ‘Soundwave’ wouldn’t stop the bullets’ flow nor would the ‘Amp it up’ animation delay any fight time.

that wouldn’t change anything. soundwaves animation barely limits how much damage he can deal, same with amp it up.

Still, you are underestimating how fun and equal it will be. Lucio will be able to hurt down one taps and be better in 1v1s. Where power is lost, it is made up elsewhere, if you read my 1st post on this thread, you will see how fun Lucio could be. :slight_smile:

he wouldn’t be able to hurt down one taps, because his damage would be in the gutter. if you increase the projectile size too much, then you’ll most definitely never hit a headshot unless you hit wildly above the head which can be very inconsistent.

and OW2 isn’t about 1v1s, and heroes shouldn’t be balanced around 1v1s. 205 is also uneven, and it makes no sense. if you really want lower health, then just reduce it to 200 at that point. he didnt need a health nerf in the first place, and it’ll only make him worse.

i respect your opinion and your attempted changes at thoughtfully rebalancing him, but i believe this would make him the worst support in the game.

I’m just going to disagree. The damage is far too low, health is also very low and at an oddly specific number, etc.

Send it back to the kitchen man. I get it, funny music reference, but 8 dmg? EIGHT??
Even Mercy’s piddly pool pistol does 20 a shot. This is almost on par with Ramattra’s staff, but even that is a very rapid stream of projectiles, and he has Nemesis to buff up his numbers.

All the other changes are either goofy or too hand-holding. Sound Barrier being appled to Lucio on cast is about the only thing I have a positive remark about; would save a lot more clutch ult fails, but even then, takes away the risk and dumbs things down.

He is already the most fun hero to me, and I’ll tell you now; if they made changes like this, I would never bother playing him again.

If you finish reading my 1st post on this thread, you will see that I also suggested that his ‘Amp it up’ cooldown be reduce, this with no reloading and having 4 bullets always ready
to kill will make us froggies unstoppable, 205 hp makes froggies killable

No, I did. I’m saying that with your suggested changes he will still be overall nerfed compared to how he is currently.

I read what you said. I just think that there are multiple things here that would make him weaker. Sorry.

Edit: Moreover, I’m not convinced Lucio really needs a rework to be honest. He has had plenty of times where he’s been fantastic, and he has a dedicated playerbase that enjoys him already.

Okay I’m not gonna be harsh as everyone else seems to be but like your trying to change not just change but rework which is a more drastic word then people think that I know gets thrown around a lot.

Your suggesting a rework for one of the communities virtually all around agreed most well designed and balanced heros my guy… It’s like proposing to rework Junker Queen…

Because at that point the answer is “I meaaan just why tho”?

Good Lucio players don’t usually need a full clip to kill a squishy and all your change does is dumpster his ttk to a point where he can’t kill anything. Never cook again

No, it’s a huge nerf in every regard, only to fulfill your DJ reverse cosplay fantasies. Sorry, I’m not gonna be nearly as nice as everyone else, you’re proposing to gut the hero completely.
