I was low diamond (~3100) last season, just played my placements and got plat 5. Why did I lose 500 sr for no reason? I went 7-1.
they said that your rank wont reset, but be slightly reduced regardless
What I read said the ranks go in descending order, so bronze 5 is the worst and gm 1 is the best. Unless I’m mistaken I lost 500 sr for one loss.
sr was completely deleted so idk how it actually works right now 
They said they were going to do that on purpose. Starting people lower and letting them climb.
I went from that same rank to Gold-1.
just read the overwatch post on this, and 5 is lowest, 1 is highest.
