Low fps - Low GPU/CPU usage - Low temps

I have -
GTX 1080
Ryzen 1600 oc to 3.5 GHz
16gb of 2400Mhz RAM

Usage on low settings of below 50% on all CPU cores and below 20% for GPU. Temps all stable below 60 and with both components able to run at 100% below 75.

Fps always below 150 and often dropping to 80-60 with it looking very stuttery.

Please help.

Try going into task manager when Overwatch is running in the background. Next, go into the details tab and look for a file named Overwatch.exe. Then, right click it, select priority, and set it to high.

Unfortuantly no effect at all. Any other ideas?

Maybe try updating your drivers. If they are already updated, try reinstalling them. Also, check if your computer is set to ‘Power Saver Mode.’

Once again, all done before. I have done everything I have seen suggested so far seen on forums such as HPET. I can get GPU to 100% by increasing settings but CPU refuses to even max out one logical core in the task manager…

Gyazo. com/71453481fc7bd0cd3a353e804560435e?token=344697eb27ff258167ac5c3f613fbe87

That is with uncapped on low settings.
The play time is the bump in the middle

Update - at 4 logical processors there is no loss from the 12 but any less and it starts to drop and stutter. Even at one core it just about maxes it out the core. But that is the only time it maxes one out.

No a simpler trick. Pull your GPU out. And plug it back in. A friend of mine had the same Problem that his GPU didnt run at full power. After pulling the GPU out and back in we made sure it was placed correct and TIGHT and after that everything was as it should be. So do the same thing then run a benchmark and see how it runs (for example Unigine Valley). I get an avg of 90 FPS at 1440p when benchmarking on Ultra and 2x Antialiasing.(GTX 1070) So you can expect your 1080 to be a bit better (i would say: 110ish - 120FPS with the same settings). When its flawlessly your GPU is in a good state, when it doesnt run smoothly something isnt right with your GPU. When everything went fine but the Problem in Overwatch is still there then its probably something with Overwatch.

Hope I could help you a bit.

Unfortunately the GPU runs at full clock under all loads so I don’t think this is the problem unless benchmarks/stress tests act differntly to games? I am 90% sure it is to do with the fact the cpu usage never goes above 65% on any core. Unless I force it to only use 1 which in turn makes the game unplayable…

Just played a game that became completely unplayable. This is ridiculous, surely someone at Blizzard has something to say about this. There is no way my pc should even struggle with badly optimised games. Just some word from an employee saying if they are working on something or if they are unable to solve the problem.

Not sure if this problem has been fixed but… I was having similiar issues and I fixed it today. If you’re running two monitors, you need to go into video settings and manually select which monitor you want. The default setting of “Best Match” causes severe FPS loss. Once I picked the monitor of my choice and reset the game, it worked flawlessly. game never drops below 60 fps

Hi, sorry for the late response but I am sure many people are experiencing this.

I personally fixed this issue by going to the windows 10 graphics settings then choosing overwatch.exe, clicking options, then setting to high performance . I found overwatch.exe by launching the game, finding the exe in task manager, right clicking, then open file location. I copied and pasted this directory to the exe in the windows 10 settings.

Before I did this fix I was getting below temps of around 50-65
After I was getting well above 75 - 80.

I hope this fixes your problem and others experiencing this :).
